Projectile Launching Systems with Anchors having Dissimilar Flight Characteristics

A projectile deployment system includes an entangling projectile having a pair of anchors and a tether connecting the pellets. A projectile casing includes a pair of sockets, each socket sized to carry one of the pair of anchors. At least one pressure source is capable of expelling one or both of the anchors from the projectile casing toward a subject. At least one of the entangling projectile or the projectile casing can be configured such that the pair of anchors travel toward the subject with differing flight characteristics after being expelled from the projectile casing.

Systems and Methods for Providing Information to Users of Hand-held Weaponry

A system for alerting a user to a state of a weapon includes a safety assembly, operably coupled to the weapon and operable to selectively render the weapon into either a safe mode or a firing mode. A motor is carried by the weapon and is operably coupled to the safety assembly so as to be engaged when the weapon is in the firing mode. The motor is operable to impart vibratory motion to the weapon of sufficient magnitude that a wielder of the weapon can tactilely sense the vibratory motion without visually inspecting the weapon to thereby sense that the weapon is in the firing mode without visually inspecting the weapon.

Protective coverings and related methods for entangling projectiles

A grappling assembly is provided for use with an entangling projectile. The grappling assembly includes at least one hook including an apex portion and a sharpened prong extending distally from the apex portion. A protective cover is carried adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook. The protective cover includes at least one substantially planar surface. The protective cover is positioned relative to the at least one hook such that the sharpened prong of the at least one hook extends distally from the protective cover and thereby remains exposed while the protective cover is carried adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook.

An entangling projectile includes a pair of pellets and a tether connecting the pellets. The pellets each have a head portion and a tail portion. At least one gasket is carried by the head portion of at least one of the pellets. The gasket is operable to provide a sealed interface between the head portion of the at least one pellet and a socket within which the at least one pellet is fired from a launcher.

Tripwire Launcher

A tripwire launcher. The tripwire launcher includes a housing having a first end opposite a second end. A handle extends orthogonally from the second end. A barrel is affixed to the first end. A tripwire having weighted elements disposed on opposing ends thereof is dimensioned to removably secure within the barrel. A pressurized gas canister is removably securable to the housing, wherein the pressurized gas canister conditionally in fluid communication with the barrel. A quick-release valve is disposed between the barrel and the pressurized gas canister. A trigger is operably connected to the quick-release valve such that when actuated, the quick-release valve opens to deliver gas stored within the pressurized gas canister through the barrel and propel the tripwire from the barrel.
