Vial with improved visibility for level

A level including level vial(s) having enhanced visibility are provided. The level may include a level vial including a material that is attracted to the interface or border of a globule within the level vial which improves visibility of the interface. The level may include a solid level indicator having easy to see end surfaces that are generally vertically oriented when in the level position. The end surfaces of the solid level indicator may allow the user to more easily compare the position of the solid level indicator to indicating lines formed on the level vial. The level may include a level vial including a first liquid and an immiscible second liquid forming a globule with the first material. The globule formed from the second material may improve visibility compared to a typical air bubble.

Electronic marker with integral level indicator
10705249 · 2020-07-07 ·

An electronic marker for locating obscured objects such as buried conduits has a built-in level indicator to provide a visual indication of when the marker has been properly oriented, e.g., a flat marker which should be positioned horizontally when deployed. The level indicator can be an air-bubble level formed from a transparent semispherical portion of the marker body with a partially-filled chamber. Alternatively, the level indicator can be a gravity-ball level with a circular ridge formed along the concave interior surface of the semispherical portion and a ball located within the ridge. In a further embodiment the level indicator is an electronic level having a tilt indicator circuit in which an electronic controller selectively illuminates light sources in response to signals from tilt sensors. The light sources may for example comprise four light-emitting diodes located at four respective corners of the marker body.

Fastener installation guide
10639769 · 2020-05-05 · ·

An installation guide for installing a screw at a predetermined angle relative to a reference plane is disclosed. The installation guide includes a housing configured for releasable connection to a bit. The housing includes a channel being sized and shaped to receive the bit therein for retaining the housing on the bit. The channel allows the bit to rotate relative to the housing. An indicator is supported by the housing and is configured for movement relative to the housing to indicate an angle of the housing relative to a reference plane.

VEHICLE SENSOR DEVICE AND SEAT BELT RETRACTOR EMPLOYING SAME

A vehicle sensor device comprising a weight body housing installed in a body so as to be rotatable around a shaft coupled to the body, a weight body being installed in the weight body housing ball assembly for sensing a change in inclination of a vehicle, a sensor housing in which the ball assembly is movably installed, and a sensor lever installed in the sensor housing and rotated by the movement of the ball assembly. The sensor lever is configured to linearly reciprocate, by rotation, a pilot lever provided in a locking device. The sensor lever is installed in the sensor housing to which the ball assembly is coupled. The sensor lever is rotated around a hinge shaft by the movement of the ball assembly according to a change in inclination of the vehicle to linearly reciprocate the pilot lever connected to the sensor lever.

Device for determining orientation of an object
11898876 · 2024-02-13 ·

The present disclosure discloses a device for determining orientation of an object. The device comprises a hollow spherical member. A plurality of sensors are positioned within a cavity defined by an inner surface and an outer surface of the hollow spherical member. Further, the device comprises a light source fixed within the hollow spherical member, and a solid sphere provided within the hollow spherical member. The solid spherical member is configured to displace within the hollow spherical member, pointing towards gravity and occupies lowermost position of the hollow spherical member, and thus blocks impingement of light on to corresponding one or more sensors at the lowermost position of the hollow spherical member. The blocked one or more sensors activate or deactivate, and generate a signal, which is received by a computing unit, to determine orientation of the object.

Flexible microfluidic motion sensors

A flexible electronic device includes a flexible electronic circuit and a flexible microfluidic sensor homogeneously integrated into the flexible circuit. The flexible sensor includes a flexible microfluidic structure, a first material, a second material, and an electrode arrangement. At least one of the first and second materials is a fluid. The structure defines at least one microfluidic chamber. The first and second materials are disposed in the chamber. The second material has a physical property and an electrical property different from the first material. The electrode arrangement includes at least one pair of electrodes spaced apart from each other with at least a portion of the at least one chamber located functionally directly therebetween such that at least one electronic property measured across the pair is based on a relationship between the second material and the electrode pair. The relationship is based on a physical condition of the microfluidic structure.
