Method for Operating a Vehicle and Device for Carrying Out the Method
A method for operating a vehicle includes carrying out a lane-keeping control of the vehicle along a course of a lane travelled in by the vehicle. When lane markings are detected, the course of the lane is determined on a basis of detected lane markings. When lane markings are not detected, the course of the lane is determined in a mapped-based manner on a basis of data from a digital map where a rough localization of the vehicle in the digital map and a fine localization of the vehicle in the digital map is performed.

The disclosure relates to a method for generating a reference trajectory within a lane for a vehicle. The method comprises receiving at least one vehicle current state parameter describing a current state of the vehicle (S11). The current state of the vehicle comprises at least a current position of the vehicle. Furthermore, a destination parameter describing a destination to be reached by the vehicle (S12), and at least one route parameter describing a route for reaching the destination (S13) are received. Moreover, the method comprises estimating a power loss being caused when traveling from the current position of the vehicle to the destination (S14). The reference trajectory within the lane is determined such that it minimizes the power loss and leads to the destination (S15). Additionally, a method for operating a vehicle is presented. According to this method, a reference trajectory is generated in accordance with the above method (S21) and at least one control signal is provided for controlling a motion of the vehicle along the reference trajectory (S22). Furthermore, a data processing apparatus, a vehicle and a computer-readable medium are presented.

An entry point and an exit point are specified in a non-lane section. A lane definition line is searched to be continuous in a longitudinal direction of the road from the entry point to the exit point. A virtual lane marking line is generated to connect between the lane marking line on an entry side and the lane marking line on an exit side, based on the lane definition line detected as a search result. A travelling track is generated as a trajectory on which a vehicle is scheduled to travel, based on the virtual lane marking line.

A driving assist method minimizes an incidence of lane changing within a circulatory roadway. In this driving assist method, a recognition assessment processor assesses the travel of a host vehicle, calculates a travel route over which the host vehicle is to travel, and executes a driving assist control based on the travel route. The recognition assessment processor further assesses whether the host vehicle has arrived at a roundabout having a circulatory roadway to which three or more radial roadways are connected. When an assessment has been made that the host vehicle has arrived at the roundabout, a position of a host vehicle entrance and a position of a host vehicle exit are specified. Furthermore, an entrance position is set based on a positional relationship between the host vehicle entrance and the host vehicle exit.

A method is provided for a navigation device to display maneuvering instructions along a route, involving: displaying a digital map in a perspective manner on a display unit of the navigation device; according to the distance of the navigation device from the location of the maneuver, i.e. the location where a maneuver is to be carried out as per the route: displaying first maneuvering instructions for the maneuver when the navigation device is farther from the location of the maneuver than a predefined distance; displaying second maneuvering instructions instead of the first maneuvering instructions for the maneuver when the navigation device is closer to the location of the maneuver than the predefined distance; the first and second maneuvering instructions being displayed in such a way as to cover up a portion of the displayed digital map; displaying a graphic link between the location of the maneuver on the digital map and the first or second maneuvering instructions.
