Weight verification and tare process for scale

An electronic scale performs a post-weighing calibration in which the user steps on the scale, and the scale provides an estimated weight based on the scale's stored tare weight determined after the previous weighing performed by the scale. The person steps off of the scale while the estimated weight is displayed, and the scale automatically performs the calibration process to determine the scale's tare weight and verifies the weight. The estimated weight is shown with an orange ellipsis, and the verified weight is shown with a green checkmark. The scale compares the stored tare weight with the new tare weight, and if the difference between the stored tare weight and the new tare weight is within a variation threshold, the scale identifies the weight as being verified. If the difference exceeds the variation threshold, the scale recalculates the weight, displays the corrected weight, and produces a tone as an alert.

A weight scale system is for measuring the weight of an object, which includes a bed section, a vertical separator actuator and a controller. The bed section includes a lower-platform, an upper-platform and weight sensor assemblies located on the lower-platform, each includes at least one weight sensor. The bed section further includes at least one vertical-separator. The vertical-separator actuator is coupled with the vertical-separator and with the controller. The controller is coupled with the weight sensors. The controller directs the vertical-separator actuator to operate the bed section in at least two modes, a referencing mode in which the vertical-separator detaches the upper-platform from the weight sensor assemblies, thereby enabling referencing the weight sensors, and a weighing mode, in which the vertical separator re-attaches the upper-platform with the weight sensor assemblies, such that the weight associated with the upper-platform is fully applied on the weight sensors.

A system for splitting a fluid includes a source support configured to support a source container of a fluid flow circuit and at least one satellite support, with each satellite support configured to support a different satellite container fluidly connected to the source container. A weight scale is associated with each of the supports. The system also includes a clamp system and a controller. The controller is configured to control each weight scale to measure a combined weight of the container and the contents of the container supported by the support associated with the weight scale. The controller is configured to control the clamp system to selectively allow and prevent fluid flow from the source container to each satellite container based at least in part upon the weights measured by each weight scale. Fluid flow continues until the contents of each container have reached a target volume.
