20170292908 · 2017-10-12 ·

A spectrometer system may be used to determine one or more spectra of an object, and the one or more spectra may be associated with one or more attributes of the object that are relevant to the user. While the spectrometer system can take many forms, in many instances the system comprises a spectrometer and a processing device in communication with the spectrometer and with a remote server, wherein the spectrometer is physically integrated with an apparatus. The apparatus may have a function different than that of the spectrometer, such as a consumer appliance or device.

A spectroscopic measurement apparatus includes a light source, an integrator, a spectroscopic detector, and an analysis unit. The integrator includes an internal space in which a measurement object is disposed, a light input portion for inputting light to the internal space, a light output portion for outputting light from the internal space, a sample attachment portion for attaching the measurement object, and a filter attachment portion for attaching a filter unit. The filter unit has a transmission spectrum in which an attenuation rate for excitation light is larger than an attenuation rate for up-conversion light, and attenuates the light output from the light output portion. The analysis unit analyzes luminous efficiency of the measurement object on the basis of the transmission spectrum data and the spectroscopic spectrum data acquired by the spectroscopic detector.

Analysis apparatus

An analysis apparatus is provided with: a light emitting part, a light dispersing part, a light detecting part, a storage unit, and a control unit. The light dispersing part disperses first reflected light reflected from a food product when the food product has been irradiated with light from the light emitting part. The light detecting part: generates first detection data by detecting the first reflected light dispersed; and, when a food product sample containing known ingredients is irradiated with light from the light emitting part, generates second detection data by detecting second reflected light reflected from the food product sample and dispersed by the light dispersing part. The storage unit stores a regression formula computed using the second detection data as a parameter. The control unit estimates the ingredients contained in the food product using the first detection data and the regression formula stored in the storage unit.

Optical filter and spectrometer

An optical assembly is disclosed including two laterally variable bandpass optical filters stacked at a fixed distance from each other, so that the upstream filter functions as a spatial filter for the downstream filter. The lateral displacement may cause a suppression of the oblique beam when transmission passbands at impinging locations of the oblique beam onto the upstream and downstream filters do not overlap. A photodetector array may be disposed downstream of the downstream filter. The optical assembly may be coupled via a variety of optical conduits or optical fibers for spectroscopic measurements of a flowing sample.
