A method of retrieving a mobile platform from a tank at least partially filled with a non-conductive, energetic substance includes configuring the mobile platform to include at least a retrieval system including a buoyant body, an electrically conductive member, and a tether. The tether electrically isolates the buoyant body from the enclosure. The method further includes the steps of releasing the buoyant body to convey the tether toward a surface of the non-conductive, liquid energetic substance; conveying an electrically conductive cable to the electrically conductive member using the tether; electrically connecting a voltage neutralizing end of the electrically conductive cable to a voltage differential neutralizing body in a spark inhibiting ambient condition; electrically connecting a mobile platform end of the electrically conductive cable to the electrically conductive member of the mobile platform while the electrically conductive member is below the surface of the non-conductive, liquid energetic substance.

PROCESSING DEVICE RELATING TO INSPECTION OF INSPECTION OBJECT, INSPECTION SYSTEM OF INSPECTION OBJECT, PROCESSING METHOD RELATING TO INSPECTION OF INSPECTION OBJECT, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM

In an embodiment, a processing device relating to an inspection of an inspection object by a photography unit is provided. A processor of the processing device calculates a plurality of photography points as positions photographing the inspection object based on shape data in which a shape of a surface of the inspection object is indicated by a point group, and information relating to a position and a normal vector on the surface of the inspection object is defined by the point group. The processor executes analysis regarding a path that passes through all of the calculated photography points and minimizes a sum of a movement cost from each of the photography points to a photography point of a next movement destination, and calculates a path corresponding to an analysis result as a path for moving the photography unit.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INSPECTING HYDRO TURBINE RUNNER

The invention relates to a device (1) for inspecting a cavitation damage or a crack of a runner (7) of a hydro turbine, comprising a remote operated vehicle (20) or an autonomous underwater vehicle, comprising at least one camera and/or scanner, and means (24) for processing images from said camera and/or scanner to generate at least one 3D view and/or IR thermal view of at least a part of a surface, or of a subsurface, of said runner comprising said cavitation damage or crack, said device further comprising means to reconstruct a 3D view by photogrammetry and/or means for locally heating, for example by induction or by a laser or by a heated water jet, said at least one part of a surface of said runner comprising said cavitation or crack.

Flexible inspection system

A flexible inspection system includes a robot with a plurality of scanners and a robot controller. The robot controller is configured to receive a vehicle inspection protocol (VIP) for a vehicle being assembled on an assembly line. The VIP includes checkpoints to be scanned on the vehicle and the checkpoints correspond to components installed on the vehicle and connections between components installed on the vehicle. The robot controller commands the robot to move the plurality of scanners per the VIP such that the checkpoints are scanned. A characteristic of each checkpoint is recorded and compared to a reference characteristic such that a pass or no-pass determination of each checkpoint is provided. A vehicle inspection report with the pass/no-pass determinations is provided to an operator such that operator inspections and/or repairs of the checkpoints are made.

Workforce Augmenting Inspection Device

In one embodiment, systems and methods include using a workforce augmenting inspection device (“WAND”) to measure a parameter of an aircraft. The WAND comprises a body, wherein the body comprises one or more buttons configured to actuate the WAND to perform one or more functions. The WAND further comprises a head comprising a camera and a light source, wherein the light source is disposed around the camera operable to produce light in conjunction with operation of the camera, wherein the camera is operable to capture an image within a scope of view of the camera. The WAND further comprises a standoff wheel, wherein the standoff wheel is operable to rotate independently of the head. The WAND further comprises a power source operable to provide power to the WAND, wherein the power source comprises a controller configured to actuate the head, camera, and light source.

Method for testing a preservative layer

A method for inspecting a preservation layer of a motor vehicle component during the manufacture of a motor vehicles. A preservation medium is applied having fluorescent additives to a component of the motor vehicle in a coating region. An inspection head having at least one camera and a UV light source is then caused to move adjacent to an inspection region that is a partial region of the coating region. The UV light source is the caused to emit radiating light onto the inspection region and the at least one camera is concurrently caused to record at least one image of the inspection region. An examination of the at least one recorded image is then conducted for a faulty coating with the preservation medium.

Systems and methods for detecting properties relating to building components

Systems and methods of the present disclosure include at least one building component detection sensor device configured to be deployed within (or proximate to) a building comprised of a plurality of building components. The at least one building component detection sensor device is configured to detect data relating to at least one building component of the plurality of building components. In addition, a building component property determination system includes a processor configured to execute instructions stored in memory to determine one or more properties of the at least one building component based at least in part on the data detected by the at least one building component detection sensor device.

A frame body may be parallel to and proximate with a surface of a structure and extend substantially horizontally from a first side to a second side. At least one first connecting portion may be attached to a first cable to provide for vertical movement of the frame body, and at least one second connection portion may be attached to a second cable to limit undesired movement of the frame body and/or provide constant tension. At least one buffer portion may be located proximate the first side to move vertically on the surface, and at least one buffer portion may be located proximate the second side to move vertically on the surface. A surface imaging device attached to the frame body may let the system image a structure's substantially vertical surface (e.g., an optical camera may photograph an exterior wall of a building as the frame body is moved).
