PATHOGEN DETECTION BY SERS NANOPARTICLES

A phage specific antibody presenting particle, devices and methods related to detection of phage amplification are provided. Specifically, described herein are compositions and methods for detecting Listeria bacteria using an antibody that recognized A511 anti-Listeria phage, wherein the antibody is conjugated to a nanoparticle that can be detected by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).

SENSOR

The present invention provides an isolated binding reagent that specifically binds to a recombinant Cocoa Swollen Shoot Virus (CSSV) coat protein antigen having at least 80% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 or 4 and/or at least 80% sequence identity to the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or 3. A porous membrane based sensor for detecting CSSV comprising a recombinant CSSV coat protein antigen and a method for detecting CSSV using the sensor are also provided. A competitive ELISA for detecting viral infections in plants is also provided.

Described herein are compositions and methods for detecting immune response to pathogens. Also described herein are methods and systems utilizing the compositions for detecting adaptive immunity.

ASSAY FOR JC VIRUS ANTIBODIES

The invention relates to methods and reagents for analyzing samples for the presence of JC virus antibodies.

Continuous stable cell line for identification of infectious African swine fever virus in clinical samples

Methods are provided herein utilizing a stable cell line capable of efficient infection by African swine fever virus (ASFV) and also provides for the detection of the presence of virus in samples applied to the cells. Detection of the virus by means such as red blood cell rosetting is a surprising result given that the cell line is derived from African green monkeys. This cell line provides a marked improvement over the currently available testing strategies.

METHODS FOR GROWING AFRICAN SWINE FEVER VIRUS IN FETAL PORCINE LUNG ALVEOLAR MACROPHAGE CELLS

A method for generating progeny of an African swine fever (ASF) virus includes providing an isolated or purified fetal porcine lung alveolar macrophage cell capable of replicating the ASF virus, wherein the cell is cultured for at least 5 passages; exposing the cell to the ASF virus; and allowing the ASF virus to replicate in the cell; thereby generating progeny of the ASF virus.

RECOMBINANT BACULOVIRUS DISPLAYING AFRICAN SWINE FEVER VIRUS PROTEINS, AND AN IMMUNOLOGICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE SAME

Provided are a vector, a recombinant virus, and a method of using and making thereof. Also provided are immunological compositions containing the recombinant African swine fever virus (ASFV) for inducing an immunological response in a host animal to which the immunological composition is administered. Further provided is a kit and a method of detecting the presence of ASFV immunogens in a sample from an animal.

Assay for JC virus antibodies

The disclosure relates to methods and reagents for analyzing samples for the presence of JC virus antibodies. Disclosed is a method that includes obtaining a biological sample from a subject (e.g., plasma, serum, blood, urine, or cerebrospinal fluid), contacting the sample with highly purified viral-like particles (HPVLPs) under conditions suitable for binding of a JCV antibody in the sample to an HPVLP, and detecting the level of JCV antibody binding in the sample to HPVLP. In one embodiment, determining the level of anti-JCV antibodies in the subject sample provides a method of identifying PML risk in a subject.

Transport of Liquids and Solute Materials in Nanochannels

Transport of a vaporizable liquid containing at least one solute through a material containing nanochannels is performed by contacting material with at least one vaporizable liquid component and inducing liquid transport along nanochannel interior wall surfaces, wherein the material contains nanochannels having an average diameter up to about 300 nm, preferably up to about 100 nm, and liquid transport is induced by partial liquid vaporization. A film of solid material is deposited onto an interior nanochannel wall surface by removing the transport liquid.
