METHOD FOR DETERMINING LOCATION OF WIRELESS DEVICES
To determine a location of a client device in a wireless network having at least first and second network devices, with known locations, one of the network devices transmits a message to the other network device and the other network device responds with an acknowledgement message. A client device receives the message and the acknowledgement message as well as respective times indicating actual times at which the message and the acknowledgement message were processed by one of the first and second network devices. The client device determines its location based on the times at which it received the message and the acknowledgement message and the difference between the actual processing times. This location may be refined by determining an angle between the client device and at least one of the network devices having multiple antennas and being configured for steered beam communications.
RADIO RECEIVER FOR DETERMINING LOCATION OF A SIGNAL SOURCE
Systems and methods for determining an accurate location of a signal's source of transmission. The methods involve: demodulating a detected carrier signal modulated with a Pseudo Noise (“PN”) code sequence to obtain an original information-bearing signal therefrom; computing time delay offsets using correlations of PN code windows for each symbol of the original information-bearing signal; determining a high accuracy Time Of Arrival (“TOA”) of the detected carrier signal using the time delay offsets; and using the high accuracy TOA to determine an accurate location of the original information-bearing signal's source of transmission.
DETECTING SOUNDING SEQUENCES IN PACKET EXTENSIONS
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for detecting a presence of long training fields (LTFs) in packet extensions of high-efficiency (HE) packets. An apparatus requests a length of packet extensions to be used for a ranging operation. The apparatus receives an HE packet including a packet extension containing a selected number of LTFs based at least in part on the requested packet extension length. The apparatus performs the ranging operation based on a determination that the packet extension contains LTFs. In some aspects, the apparatus detects a presence of LTFs in the packet extension based on a bit provided in the HE packet. In some other aspects, the apparatus detects a presence of LTFs in the packet extension by extracting sequences from the packet extension.
Risk Behavior Detection Methods Based on Tracking Handset Movement Within a Moving Vehicle
At least a method for determining risk behavior of a driver is described. While a vehicle is being driven, data is obtained related to the position and movement of a wireless communications device. The data may indicate the type of behavior exhibited by the driver while the vehicle is being driven.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING ARRIVAL TIME, TERMINAL DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A method and device for determining a time of arrival (TOA), a terminal device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are disclosed. The method may include: determining a detection start time on a correlation waveform based on a leading edge detection threshold; determining a noise threshold on the correlation waveform, and determining a quasi-TOA according to the detection start time; and determining the TOA according to data information in a target area of the correlation waveform and the noise threshold, where the target area is determined based on the quasi-TOA and a detection length.
TARGET DISTANCE ESTIMATION DEVICE, RADIO WAVE DETECTION DEVICE, AND TARGET DISTANCE ESTIMATION METHOD
A target distance estimation device includes: a multipath composite wave signal generation unit that generates a multipath composite wave signal that is a simulation signal of a composite wave of a direct wave and a multipath wave received by a reception antenna in a case where a provisional target distance, which is a provisional target distance from a radio source to a radio wave detection device, is set; and a target distance estimation unit that estimates a target distance from the radio wave detection device to the radio source on the basis of a correlation between the reception signals and the multipath composite wave signal generated by the multipath composite wave signal generation unit.

Method for Distance Determination
Example embodiments relate to methods for distance determination. One embodiment includes a method for determining a distance between a first radio signal transceiver and a second radio signal transceiver. The method includes receiving a first set and a second set of measurement results. The first set is acquired by the first radio signal transceiver based on signals transmitted from the second radio signal transceiver and the second set is acquired by the second radio signal transceiver based on signals transmitted from the first radio signal transceiver. The first set is representable as including, for each of a plurality of frequencies, a measurement pair. The method also includes calculating, for each frequency of the plurality of frequencies, a preliminary estimate of a value proportional to a one-way frequency domain channel response. Additionally, the method includes determining a final estimate of the value proportional to the one-way frequency domain channel response.
