Method and system for displaying an area
A method for displaying an area on a display device, such as a graphical user interface (GUI), by displaying a front view of the area generated from front view data and a top view of the area generated from top view data according to a first line-of-sight; processing an interaction between an operator and one of the front view and the top view of the GUI; and displaying on the same display device an updated front view of the area and an updated top view of the area, wherein the updated front view and the updated top view are generated from the front view data and top view data according to a second line-of-sight, and wherein the first line-of-sight and the second line-of-sight have a common origin. The method is particularly useful for visualising, for example, an open cut mine. An apparatus for working the method is also described.
Vertical profile display including weather icons
A vertical profile display includes weather information for an aircraft. In some examples, the vertical profile display includes one or more weather icons, each weather icon indicating a weather condition for a volume of space at a particular altitude. Each weather icon is displayed within the vertical profile display at a portion of the vertical profile display corresponding to the altitude of the weather condition indicated by the particular weather icon.

Solid-state radar device, solid-state radar control method, and non-transitory computer readable medium
The solid-state radar device includes: a transmission/reception unit configured to transmitting and receiving radio wave signals comprising a modulated signal and a non-modulated signal, which are pulse signals whose frequencies are different from each other; a frequency filter unit configured respectively to extract the modulated signal and the non-modulated signal from the received radio wave signals based on the frequencies; a pulse compression unit generating a pulse-compressed signal by pulse-compressing the modulated signal; a first echo image generation unit configured to generate a first echo image based on the non-modulated signal and the pulse-compressed signal; a wave analysis unit configured to analyze ocean wave information based on one of the non-modulated signal and the pulse-compressed signal; and a display signal generation unit configured to generate a display signal comprising the first echo image and/or the ocean wave information.
DISPLAY DEVICE FOR VERTICAL PRESENTATION OF FORECAST WEATHER
An apparatus and method for receiving and processing weather data and flight plan data is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first display, an input unit, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive flight plan data and weather data, and to determine, based on the weather data, which weather characteristics is located within a predetermined range of a predetermined flight altitude value. The processor is further configured to instruct the first display to display those weather data which are located within the predetermined range above and below the input flight altitude value together with the flight plan data, and to instruct the first display to additionally display at least one element of the group consisting of the elements: strategic information weather, uplink weather, weather information from external weather data provider, onboard weather radar information, notice to airmen, aeronautical information service data, terminal area forecast, air-traffic related information.

Vertical profile display including hazard band indication
A vertical profile display includes weather information for an aircraft. In some examples, the weather is displayed in the vertical profile display with a hazard band indication. The hazard band indication includes an upper limit line positioned within the vertical profile view at a position corresponding to an altitude greater than or equal to an altitude above which no hazardous weather cells were detected. In some examples, the vertical profile display also includes one or more weather icons, with each weather icon indicating a weather condition for a volume of space.
