The present invention relates to a measuring device (10) and a method for determining a depth of field of an optical structure (100). In this case, the measuring device comprises a device body (12) with a measuring axis (14), the device body (12) being formed such that, in a measuring position, it can be placed in a stationary manner on a deposit plane of the optical structure such that the measuring axis (14) of the device body (12) coincides with an optical axis of the optical structure, wherein the device body (12) has a measurement scale (18) arranged along a scale line (16) such that the scale line (16) encloses with the direction of the measuring axis (14) a scale angle φ greater than 0° and less than 90° and the measurement scale (18) can be optically detected in the measuring position of the device body (12) by the optical structure (100) for determining the depth of field.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOTORIZED ADJUSTMENT OF OBJECTIVE LENS CORRECTION COLLAR
A system for selectively adjusting an objective lens correction collar includes a gear ring sized and shaped to fit about a correction collar of an objective lens. The system also includes an adjustment mechanism that has a motor operably connected to a complementary gear configured to selectively engage and cause movement of the gear ring, thereby adjusting the correction collar.
PORTABLE IMAGING DEVICE
A base assembly includes an imaging sensor having a sensor surface to receive a sample, and a platform connected to the base assembly. The base assembly includes (a) an aperture configured to receive a lid surface of a lid in a position to define an imaging space between the sensor surface and the lid surface and (b) a movement portion movable toward and away from the base assembly. The platform and the base assembly are configured to limit contact between the sample and the base assembly other than at the sensor surface.
Variable focal length lens device and control method of variable focal length lens device
A variable focal length lens device includes: a variable focal length lens whose focal length cyclically changes in accordance with an inputted drive signal; an image detector configured to detect an image of a measurement target through the variable focal length lens; a pulsed light illuminator configured to emit a pulsed light to illuminate the measurement target; and an illumination controller configured to control the pulsed light illuminator so that the pulsed light is emitted twice in one cycle of the drive signal based on two detection phases corresponding to a designated focal distance of the variable focal length lens.
Confocal optical system and components thereof
A confocal optical system includes a light source and a spinning polarizer disposed in the optical pathway such the light emitted from the light source passes through the spinning polarizer. A first objective lens is disposed in the optical pathway to allow passage of light that passes through the spinning polarizer. A microlens array member is disposed adjacent the first objective lens to receive light. The microlens array member includes a plate having a plurality of holes arranged in an array pattern. A second objective lens is disposed in the optical pathway to receive and allow passage of light to a sample. The optical pathway is arranged such that, after reaching the sample, the light is directed back through the second objective lens, the microlens or microlens with filter array, and the first objective lens and a fluorescent filter cube as an emission beam to reach at least one camera which provides an image of the sample.
LASER CAPTURE MICRODISSECTION APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD
A microscopy apparatus comprises a microscope comprising a stage configured to hold a tissue sample, a UV laser assembly configured to emit a UV laser beam to a viewing area of the tissue sample, and an IR laser assembly configured to emit an IR laser beam to the viewing area of the tissue sample. The UV and IR laser assemblies are oriented so as to emit the respective UV and IR laser beams in a same direction.
Method for automated non-invasive measurement of sperm motility and morphology and automated selection of a sperm with high DNA integrity
A method of automated measurement of motility and morphology parameters of the same single motile sperm. Automated motility and morphology measurements of the same single sperm are performed under different microscope magnifications. The same single motile sperm is automatically positioned and kept inside microscope field of view and in focus after magnification switch. A method of automated non-invasive measurement of sperm morphology parameters under high magnification of imaging. Sperm morphology parameters including subcellular structures are automatically measured without invasive sample staining. A method of automatically selecting sperms with normal motility and morphology and DNA integrity for infertility treatment.
Microscope and method for generating an image pieced together from a plurality of individual microscope images
The present invention initially relates to a method for generating an image of a sample, said image being pieced together from a plurality of individual microscope images. A microscope is provided, for which a measurement value of a twist angle (δ) present between an image recording unit of the microscope and an object stage of the microscope and a measurement accuracy of this measurement value are known. There is a recording of a first individual microscope image of the sample using the microscope and a displacement of the image recording unit and the sample-supporting object stage relative to one another, whereupon a second individual microscope image (02) of the sample is recorded using the microscope. A search region is determined in the second or first individual microscope image, an overlap region between the individual microscope images being expected in said search region.
