ANTIREFLECTION FILM, OPTICAL MEMBER, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL MEMBER
An optical member includes a base material and a film on the base material, the film includes hollow particles that have prickle-like protrusions on their surface, the heights of the protrusions are 3 nm or more and 20 nm or less, the proportion of the prickle-like protrusions is 3% or more and 30% or less of the particle surface, and the film includes 50 percent by volume or more and 68 percent by volume or less of hollow particles. Consequently, an antireflection film having a low refractive index and a low level of scattering in combination is provided.
COMPOSITE SILICA GLASS MADE LIGHT DIFFUSION MEMBER
A composite silica glass made light diffusion member includes a dense silica glass, and a porous silica glass which has been layered on the surface of the dense silica glass. The porous silica glass is a porous body and has a homogeneous pore distribution. The porous body has a framework including a plurality of spherical silica glasses, contains a communicating pore part formed by spaces among them, and has a central pore size of 10 to 20 μm and a porosity of 25 to 40%. The spherical silica glasses have an average diameter of 30 to 100 μm. An average value of a specific arithmetic average roughness Ra in each of the spherical silica glass exposed on an outer surface of the porous silica glass is 0.8 to 4.0 nm.
OPTICAL FILM LAYER AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The present disclosure provides an optical film layer including a first transparent cover layer, a second transparent cover layer, an ink layer, and a connection layer. The second transparent cover layer is disposed over the first transparent cover layer. The ink layer is disposed on an edge region of a surface of the second transparent cover layer. The connection layer is disposed between the ink layer and the first transparent cover layer and between the surface of the second transparent cover layer and the first transparent cover layer to connect the first transparent cover layer and the second transparent cover layer. By disposing the ink layer between the first transparent cover layer and the second transparent cover layer, a problem of light leaking from an edge of a view area is solved and a display device is thinned, thereby enhancing a display quality of the display device.
BEAM SPLITTER WITH PHOTOCATALYTIC COATING AND FABRICATION METHOD THEREOF
A method for making a beam splitter with photocatalytic coating is disclosed. First, a TiO.sub.2—SiO.sub.2 sol, a SiO.sub.2 sol, and an anatase TiO.sub.2 preform sol are prepared. A glass substrate having two opposite surfaces is provided. The two opposite surfaces of the glass substrate is coated with the TiO.sub.2—SiO.sub.2 sol, the SiO.sub.2 sol, and the anatase TiO.sub.2 preform sol by dip-coating, thereby forming a coated glass substrate with a multi-layer optical coating on each of the two opposite surfaces. The multi-layer optical coating comprises a TiO.sub.2—SiO.sub.2 coating, a SiO.sub.2 coating, and an anatase TiO.sub.2 preform coating. The coated glass substrate is subjected to an anneal process. The coated glass substrate is cut, thereby forming the beam splitter with photocatalytic coating.
SILICA GLASS FILM
The present application relates to a silica glass film. The present application can provide, as a film having a silica network as a main component, a silica glass film capable of solving the disadvantages of the glass material, while having at least one or more advantages of the glass material. Such a silica glass film of the present application can be easily formed through a simple low temperature process without using expensive equipment.
Method for producing thin film, thin film forming material, optical thin film, and optical member
Disclosed are a method for producing an optical thin film having a low refractive index, a thin film forming material, an optical thin film, and an optical member. The method for producing an optical thin film includes forming a vapor deposition film by depositing a thin film forming material on an object in a non-oxidizing atmosphere by a physical vapor deposition method; and bringing the vapor deposition film into contact with a first acidic solution comprising an acidic substance in a range of pH 2.5 or more and pH 3.5 or less to obtain a first thin film having voids, wherein the thin film forming material is a mixture comprising indium oxide and silicon oxide, in which the indium oxide is in a range of 0.230 mol or more and 0.270 mol or less with respect to 1 mol of the silicon oxide.
Silicone hydrogel contact lenses
The present invention generally relates to inherently wettable silicone hydrogel contact lenses having relatively high oxygen permeability, relatively high equilibrium water content and relatively low elastic modulus. The present invention is also related to a method for making such inherently wettable silicone hydrogel contact lenses.
Coated Optical Articles
A coated optical article includes: an optical substrate; a first coating layer applied directly over at least a portion of an optical substrate, the first coating layer formed from a first coating composition including an aqueous medium and keto and/or aldo functional polymeric materials that are dispersed in the aqueous medium; and a second coating layer applied directly over at least a portion of the first coating layer, the second coating layer including a sol-gel and which is formed from a second coating composition. The first coating composition and second coating composition are each independently substantially free of hydrazine and hydrazide functional components.
Durable, optically transparent, and superhydrophobic coating
An article including a durable, optically transparent, and superhydrophobic coating is described. In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a coating comprising a layer of aerogel disposed interstitially between spaced features extending in a direction perpendicular to a major surface of the coating, the spaced features having an average height of between 200-5000 nm and an average spacing of between 10-2000 nm, and comprising at least 75 wt. % of one or more of crystalline or amorphous silicon, an inorganic oxide, a polymer, crystalline or amorphous carbon, a carbide, or a nitride.
MIXED VALENCE SOL-GELS FOR HIGH REFRACTIVE INDEX, TRANSPARENT OPTICAL COATINGS
Techniques disclosed herein relate to sol-gel materials that include at least one metal halide precursor and at least one alcohol. After being annealed, the metal in the metal halide is in at least two different oxidation states, both of which are stable and transparent to visible light. By producing a mixture of the same metal in multiple oxidation states that are all transparent to visible light, an amorphous state of the sol-gel material without any noticeable domain formation that would otherwise distribute stress locally and lead to voiding inside nano-gratings to be overcoated is obtained. Highly condensed states of the sol-gel have refractive index values in the 1.7-2.2 range, without sacrificing recessed-feature fill.
