A display panel and a display device are provided. The display panel includes: a primary contour defining an active display region and including first portions extending non-linearly, a secondary contour inside the primary contour and including second portions extending non-linearly; the primary contour is an outer contour after the display panel is lightened; pixels in the active display region include pixels of first type inside the secondary contour, pixels of second type intersecting the second portion, and pixels of third type intersecting the first portion and outside the secondary contour; an aperture ratio of pixels of third type is smaller than that of pixels of first type, an aperture ratio of at least part of pixels of second type is positively correlated with an area of a part, inside the secondary contour, of each pixel of second type.
Liquid Crystal Displays with Polarized Infrared Illumination
Systems and methods for IR readable transmissive and reflective displays are disclosed that do not suffer from a mirror-like appearance or undesirable dimming of the display due to sequential stacks of polarizers. The disclosed systems and methods use available IR LEDs in addition to, or in place of, visible light LEDs. An illuminator or integrator, which is a lightguide, is designed to maintain the polarization state of the light. The display can use a regular visible light, front polarizer and hence does not suffer from brightness reduction caused by an IR capable polarizer.
Display assembly of electronic device, electronic device, and method for manufacturing display assembly
A display assembly of an electronic device, the electronic device, and a method for manufacturing the display assembly are provided. The electronic device includes a display assembly and a camera module. The display assembly includes a cover plate, a display panel, and a backlight module that are sequentially stacked together. The cover plate has a light transmitting region, and the light transmitting region corresponds to a display region of the display panel. The display region of the display panel defines a first mounting through hole. The first mounting through hole is provided with a light blocking layer on a hole wall of the first mounting through hole, and an end of the light blocking layer close to the cover plate is attached to the light transmitting region.
Display device and semiconductor substrate
According to one embodiment, a semiconductor substrate including, a switching element, a first organic insulating film, first and second metal lines arranged in a first direction and extending in a second direction, and a metal electrode located between the first and second metal lines. The first organic insulating film includes first and second surfaces. The switching element is covered with the first surface. The first and second metal lines and the metal electrode are located on the second surface side. The first metal line includes a first portion extending in the second direction and a second portion having a width larger than a width of the first portion. The second portion includes arcuate first and second edge. The metal electrode has a polygonal shape having n corners or an elliptic shape where n is larger than four.
Display device including subpixels having light-shielded opening portions
According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels arranged in a non-rectangular display area, and a display controller configured to display images in the display area. An opening portion of each of pixels disposed at an edge portion of the display area is light-shielded at an area ratio according to a shape of the display area.
DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
Disclosed are a display substrate (10) and a display device. The display substrate (10) includes at least one irregularly-shaped pixel (103), and a shape of a boundary line of a side, proximal to a peripheral region (101b), of each irregularly-shaped pixel (103) matches with a shape of a boundary line (101a1) of an irregularly-shaped display region (101a) in a base substrate (101), such that the irregularly-shaped pixel (103) does not go beyond the irregularly-shaped display region (101a) of the display substrate (10), a narrow bezel of the display substrate (10) can be realized conveniently, and an image displayed at the boundary line (101a1) of the irregularly-shaped display region (101a) may be prevented from being in a zigzag shape, thereby ensuring a display effect of the display device. Moreover, because an area of an orthographic projection of the irregularly-shaped pixel (103) on the base substrate (101) is smaller than an area of an orthographic projection of a rectangular pixel (102) on the base substrate (101), an area of an opening (a) formed by a black matrix layer (104) in a region where each rectangular pixel (102) is disposed is larger than an area of an opening (b) formed by the black matrix layer (104) in a region where any irregularly-shaped pixel (103) is disposed, such that a smooth transition of luminance of light emitted by the irregularly-shaped pixel (103) and the rectangular pixel (102) can be ensured, and the luminance uniformity of the display device is better.
Display Device and Photomask Therefor
A display device, a photomask for a display device and a method for fabricating a display device comprising the photomask is described. The display device comprises a plurality of pixels arranged to spatially modulate light having a first characteristic. The display device further comprises a pixel mask structure. The pixel mask structure comprises a diffractive pattern that is configured to diffract light having the first characteristic and to transmit light having a second characteristic (without diffraction). The diffractive pattern of the pixel mask structure substantially surrounds the plurality of pixels.
EDGE-TO-EDGE DISPLAY WITH A SENSOR REGION
A portable information handling system housing integrates a display having an edge-to-edge presentation of visual images at a housing portion with an inactive portion of a display panel along a perimeter of the display having a sensor region that provides access to underlying sensors through the display. A sealant and black matrix disposed in the inactive region limits illumination that escapes from an active region and provides an aesthetically appealing edge-to-edge appearance. Openings in the sealant and black matrix at the sensor locations provides access through the display, such as with index matching resin that passes illumination and a patterned covering of the black matrix.
Display device
A display device is provided and includes first display area including first pixel; second display area including second pixels and provided next to first display area; light shield surrounding first and second display areas separately, first slit provided in light shield, first sealant surrounding first and second display areas; and second sealant located between first and second display areas, wherein second sealant comprises at least one opening which communicates first and second display areas to each other, and first slit is provided along outer circumference of first display area and outer circumference of second display area, and overlaps base end of second sealant which is connected with first sealant.
Liquid crystal display device, electronic apparatus, display control method, display control program, and non-transitory recording medium
An electronic apparatus using a liquid crystal display device, a display control method used in the liquid crystal display device, and a non-transitory recording medium for storing a display control program, sets a region having a larger area of an information display region and a background region as a transmission region and a region having a smaller area as a shielding region. A tint change of the shielding region caused by a TN type liquid crystal and a light source for backlight is reduced, and thus, it is possible to make the tint change depending on the viewing direction unremarkable.
