EXTERNAL ALIGNMENT INDICATION/GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR RETINAL CAMERA
A retinal camera system comprises an eyepiece lens disposed within a housing, a retinal image sensor, and a visual guidance indicator. The retinal image sensor is adapted to acquire a retinal image of an eye through the eyepiece lens. The visual guidance indicator is disposed in or on the housing peripherally about the eyepiece lens. The visual guidance indicator is positioned and oriented relative to the eyepiece lens to emit a visual cue along an optical path that does not pass through the eyepiece lens. The visual cue is adapted to facilitate alignment of the eye to the eyepiece lens.
OPTICAL IMAGING SYSTEM AND OPERATION THEREOF
A tethered imaging camera encapsulated in a shell lens element of such camera enables viewing from inside and imaging of a biological organ in/from a variety of directions. A portion of camera's optical system together with light source(s) and optical detector mutually cooperated by housing structure inside the shell are moveable/re-orientable within the shell to vary a desired view of the object space without interruption of imaging process. A tether carries electrical but not optical signals to and from the camera and controllable traction cords to move the camera, and a hand-control unit and/or electronic circuitry configured to operate the camera and power its movements. Method(s) of using optical, optoelectronic, and optoelectromechanical sub-systems of the camera.
Method and apparatus for illuminating an object field imaged by an image sensor
An illuminator apparatus and method for illuminating an object field imaged by a rectangular image sensor having a first aspect ratio is disclosed. The apparatus includes an optical fiber having a proximal end disposed to receive a plurality of input light beams, each light beam having differing spectral properties, the optical fiber being operable to transmit the light beams along the fiber to a distal end of the optical fiber. The apparatus also includes an integrating element disposed to receive the light beams from the distal end of the fiber and combine the light beams to produce a generally homogenous illumination beam at a rectangular output face of the integrating element. The apparatus further includes an illumination projector operable to project an image of the output face of the integrating element into the object field to produce a generally rectangular illuminated region of the object field substantially corresponding to the portion of the object field imaged by the rectangular image sensor.

High definition stabilized camera system for operating rooms
An image capturing and illumination system comprises a headband, a camera head mounted on the headband and having a camera lens defining a focal point, and a fiber-optic lens assembly for transmitting light therefrom. The fiber-optic lens assembly includes a pair of laterally spaced-apart lenses flanked on opposite sides of the camera lens for directing beams of light toward the focal point.

SENSOR PACKAGE, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND IMAGING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a sensor package, a method of manufacturing the same, and an imaging device that can achieve downsizing and height reduction and suppress occurrence of a flare. A sensor package includes: a solid-state imaging element that generates a pixel signal by photoelectric conversion in accordance with a light amount of incident light; a circuit board electrically connected to the solid-state imaging element; a sensor package substrate that is arranged on an incident light side of the solid-state imaging element and brings the solid-state imaging element into a sealed state; and a lens formed on a lower surface of the sensor package substrate, the lower surface being located on a side of the solid-state imaging element. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, the imaging device or the like.
Choroidal Imaging
A method may include illuminating a region of a choroid of an eye of a patient with off-axis illumination from a first imaging channel, the first imaging channel being off-axis with respect to an axis of a focus of the eye. The method may also include capturing an image of the choroid, where the off-axis illumination from the first imaging channel is off-set within the first imaging channel from the image sensor. A second off-axis illumination from a second imaging channel that is off-axis from both the first imaging channel and the off-axis illumination may illuminate the same or a different region of the choroid. The captured image of the choroid may be provided to a machine learning system. Indices associated with the image to may be identified based on an output of the machine learning system.
RETINAL CAMERA WITH SELECTIVE ILLUMINATION BANDS
A technique for imaging a retina with a retinal camera includes illuminating the retina with a plurality of distinct illumination bands that are substantially exclusive of green visible light while substantially not illuminating the retina with the green visible light. A first retinal image is acquired while illuminating the retina with the distinct illumination bands and substantially not illuminating the retina with the green visible light.
Image capture device with reduced fogging
An image capturing device comprises an elongated body, an imaging window coupled to a distal end of the elongated body, and a heat source within the elongated body. The heat source is configured to apply heat to the imaging window to remove condensation from or prevent condensation from forming on the imaging window.
