The optical scanning unit and the moving unit are arranged so that the moving unit and the optical scanning unit are opposed to each other when the moving unit is located in an inside of the image forming apparatus. The optical scanning unit is disposed so as to allow a user to touch the optical scanning unit through a space generated in the inside of the image forming apparatus when the moving unit is moved to the outside of the image forming apparatus. Between the optical box and the cover member, the cover member is opposed to the moving unit.
IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS
An image-forming apparatus includes first and second photosensitive drums, first and second image-forming portion including first and second development rollers configured to bear developers composed of first and second toner particles and organosilicon protrusions formed on surfaces of the first and second toner particles, an intermediate transfer member to which a developer image is to be transferred in first and second contact portions in contact with the first and second photosensitive drums, and a transfer member configured to transfer the developer image to a recording material in a transfer portion. The first contact portion is formed downstream of the transfer portion and upstream of the second contact portion in a movement direction of the surface of the intermediate transfer member. A protrusion formed on the second developer has a lower height than a protrusion formed on the first developer.
Electrophotographic photosensitive member, process cartridge, and image forming apparatus
An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes: a conductive support; a charge generation layer disposed on the conductive support, the charge generation layer including a charge generating material and a vinyl copolymer, the vinyl copolymer including a structural unit including a chlorine atom, a structural unit including an acyloxy group, and a structural unit including an aromatic polycarboxylic acid structure, a proportion of the structural unit including a chlorine atom to all the structural units being 80% by mass or more, a proportion of the structural unit including an aromatic polycarboxylic acid structure to all the structural units being 0.5% by mass or more; and a charge transport layer disposed on the charge generation layer, the charge transport layer including a charge transporting material and a binder resin.
Image forming apparatus capable of correction of positional displacement between an image and a medium
An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier that is capable of holding an image on a surface thereof while rotating, an image forming unit that forms the image on the image carrier, a transfer unit that transfers the image from the image carrier to a medium while rotating, a transport unit that circulates as the transfer unit rotates and that transports the medium to a transfer region while holding the medium, and a control unit that changes a timing at which the image forming unit forms the image in accordance with variation in a ratio of a rotation velocity of the transfer unit to a rotation velocity of the image carrier.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes first and second image forming portions provided with first and second image bearing member, respectively. A controller controls a first operation in which the image to be transferred to the recording material is formed only in the first image forming portion, a second operation in which the image to be transferred is formed in the first and second image forming portions, and a supplying operation in which a lubricant is attached to the second image bearing member and supplied to a contacting portion of the second image bearing member. In a case that stopping time exceeds a predetermined threshold when a start instruction of the first operation is input in a stopping state of the first and second image bearing members, the controller controls to execute the supplying operation during from a current start instruction of the first operation is input until a next start instruction of the first or second operation is input.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus that is capable of executing image forming operation includes an image bearing member; a developer carrying member that faces the image bearing member in a state of keeping a predetermined gap therefrom, and develops a latent image on the image bearing member using developer; a frame that supports the developer carrying member; applying units that applies developing voltage, in which DC voltage and AC voltage are superimposed, to the developer carrying member; a conductive member that is disposed in the frame; a detecting unit that detects AC current induced in the conductive member by applying the developing voltage to the developer carrying member; and a control portion that controls the applying units. The control portion controls the developing voltage in the image forming operation, based on the AC current which the detecting unit detects in a case where the voltage is applied by the applying units.
Method and apparatus of decorating a metallic container by digital printing to a transfer blanket
An apparatus and methods of decorating a metallic container are provided. More specifically, the present invention relates to apparatus and methods used to provide a decoration or indicia on a predetermined portion of an outer surface of a metallic container body. The decorator includes at least one digital print unit, a transfer blanket, and a support element. The digital print unit transfers a decorating material to the transfer blanket to form a decoration on the transfer blanket. The support element then moves a metallic container into contact with the transfer blanket. In this manner, the decorating material is transferred to an exterior surface portion of the metallic container to decorate the metallic container. In one embodiment, the digital print unit is an electrophotographic system which transfers a toner material to the transfer blanket. In another embodiment, the digital print unit includes an inkjet print head which transfers an ink to the transfer blanket. Optionally, the decorator may include two or more support elements.
Image forming apparatus with exposure device including shutter that moves in response to movement of a light source
An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductor, an exposure device, and a shutter assembly. The exposure device includes a light source configured to expose the photoconductor. The light source is repositionable between a proximity position at a first distance from the photoconductor and a separation position at a second distance from the photoconductor. The first distance is less than the second distance. The shutter assembly is configured to move away from the light source in response to the light source moving toward the proximity position. The shutter assembly is configured to move to cover the optical path of the light source in response to the light source moving toward the separation position.
