A developing device includes a case, a developer holder, a suction duct and a carrier catcher. The case accommodates a developer containing a toner and a carrier. The developer holder is disposed so as to face an image holder disposed outside the case and supplies the developer to the image holder. The suction duct sucks and collects a scattered toner floating in a space around the developer holder. The carrier catcher is formed in a vertical direction and disposed on a lower surface of a path of the suction duct.

Ease of exchange of a UFP collecting filter provided opposed to a sheet feeding path between transfer and fixing is improved. Therefore, a duct unit 50 kept in a state of holding the UFP collecting filter is removably and easily mounted to a duct 51.

Collecting efficiency of UFP by a filter 53 is improved. Therefore, a sheet feeding guide 37 provided between a transfer portion and a fixing portion is provided with an air passing portion 37c in order to form an air passage toward the filter 53.

An image forming apparatus includes: a band electrode that electrically charges a surface of a photoreceptor, the band electrode being disposed along an axial direction of the photoreceptor, a suction port that sucks air and ejects a discharge product generated at the band electrode; and a first blowing port that blows air, wherein the air blown from the first blowing port flows along the band electrode from one end of the band electrode toward the other end, and is sucked through the suction port.

The catching installation is formed by overlapping a plural of filters each having a different mesh size.

In opposition to a sheet feeding path, an ultrafine particle (UFP) collecting filter provided between transfer and fixing is easily exchanged. Therefore, a duct unit kept in a state of holding the UFP collecting filter is removably and easily mounted to a duct.

An image forming device includes an image carrier, a charging device that charges the surface of the image carrier, an electrostatic image forming device that forms an electrostatic image on the surface of the image carrier, a developing device that uses a developer containing toner particles and external additives adhering to the surface of the toner particle to develop the electrostatic image into a toner image, a transfer device that transfers the toner image to a recording medium, a cleaning device having a blade that cleans off residual toner from the image carrier, a suction device that suctions all or part of residual toner excepting the external additives released from the surface of the toner particles, and a fixing device that fixes the toner image to the recording medium.
