An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer is a single-layer photosensitive layer and contains a charge generating material, a hole transport material, an electron transport material, and a binder resin. A hole mobility .sub.h is at least 1.0010.sup.7 cm.sup.2/V/second and an electron mobility .sub.e is at least 4.0010.sup.8 cm.sup.2/V/second in the photosensitive layer as measured under conditions of a temperature of 23 C. and an electric field intensity of 1.5010.sup.5 V/cm. A ratio (.sub.h/.sub.e) of the hole mobility .sub.h to the electron mobility .sub.e is at least 1.0 and no greater than 50.0.
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICE
A method for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a conductive substrate, and a photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate. The method includes the steps of preparing a coating liquid containing a charge generating material, and applying the coating liquid on to the conductive substrate, to thereby form the photosensitive layer. An absolute value of a zeta potential of the charge generating material is 5 mV or more, and a half-value width of a zeta potential distribution of the charge generating material is 100 mV or less.
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTOSENSITIVE MEMBER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a single-layer photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer contains a charge generating material, a hole transport material, an electron transport material, an additive, and a binder resin. An optical response time is in a range from 0.05 milliseconds to 0.85 milliseconds. The optical response time is a time from irradiation of a surface of the photosensitive layer charged to +800 V with pulse light having a wavelength of 780 nm to surface potential decay of the photosensitive layer from +800 V to +400 V. An optical intensity of the pulse light is set so that the surface potential of the photosensitive layer becomes +200 V from +800 V after 400 milliseconds from pulse light irradiation of the surface of the photosensitive layer charged to the +800 V. The additive includes either of both an ultraviolet absorbing agent and an antioxidant.
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTOSENSITIVE MEMBER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer of a single layer. The photosensitive layer contains a charge generating material, a hole transport material, an electron transport material, and a binder resin. An optical response time is at least 0.05 milliseconds and no greater than 0.85 milliseconds. The binder resin includes a polycarbonate resin including a repeating unit represented by general formula (1) shown below and a repeating unit represented by general formula (2) shown below.

An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate, an intermediate layer provided on the conductive substrate, and a photosensitive layer provided on the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer contains a specific polyamide resin and specific inorganic particles. The specific inorganic particles include metal oxide particles. The specific polyamide resin includes a first repeating unit derived from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and a second repeating unit derived from a diamine compound. The total percentage content of the first repeating unit and the second repeating unit is at least 80% by mol to all repeating units included in the specific polyamide resin. The photosensitive layer contains a charge generating material, an electron transport material, a binder resin, a hole transport material, and an n-type pigment.
Photoconductor, image forming apparatus, and process cartridge
A photoconductor includes an electroconductive substrate; an undercoat layer overlying the electroconductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer overlying the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer includes a urethane resin, a metal oxide particle and a compound having the following formula (1): ##STR00001##
wherein R1 to R8 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a saturated or an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group optionally having a substituent, an aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally having a substituent, an alkoxy group optionally having a substituent, an aryloxy group optionally having a substituent, a sulfo group optionally having a substituent, an amino group, a dialkylamino group optionally having a substituent or an diarylamino group optionally having a substituent; and R3 and R4, R4 and R5, R6 and R7, and R7 and R8 may be bonded with each other to form an aromatic ring.

An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer contains at least a charge generating material, a hole transport material, and a binder resin. The hole transport material is a compound represented by the following general formula (1). The binder resin is a resin represented by the following general formula (2). In general formula (1), R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or an alkoxy group; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 each independently represent an alkyl group, or an alkoxy group. In general formula (2), R.sub.23, R.sub.24, and R.sub.25 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, at least one of R.sub.23, R.sub.24, and R.sub.25 representing a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group; p+q=1.00, and 0.35p<1.00; and n represents 2 or 3. ##STR00001##

A photoconductor includes an electroconductive substrate; an undercoat layer overlying the electroconductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer overlying the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer includes a urethane resin, a metal oxide particle and a compound having the following formula (1):

The hole transport material is a compound represented by the following general formula (1). The binder resin is a resin represented by the following general formula (2). In general formula (1), R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or an alkoxy group; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 each independently represent an alkyl group, or an alkoxy group. In general formula (2), R.sub.23, R.sub.24, and R.sub.25 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group, at least one of R.sub.23, R.sub.24, and R.sub.25 representing a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group; p+q=1.00, and 0.35p<1,00; and n represents 2 or 3.
