Provided is an electrophotographic photosensitive member having a feature in that, in a graph that is obtained by a method of measuring an EV curve, and that has a horizontal axis representing I and a vertical axis representing V, when V at I=0.500 [μJ/cm.sup.2] is represented by V.sub.r [V], a maximum value of S [V.Math.μJ/cm.sup.2] represented by S=I.Math.(V−V.sub.r) in a range of I=0.000 to 0.030 [μJ/cm.sup.2] is represented by S.sub.max [V.Math.μJ/cm.sup.2], and a product of a light amount I.sub.i [μJ/cm.sup.2] on the horizontal axis and a potential V.sub.i[V] on the vertical axis at a point of intersection between an approximate straight line in a range of I=0.000 to 0.010 [μJ/cm.sup.2] and an approximate straight line in a range of I=0.490 to 0.500 [μJ/cm.sup.2] is represented by S.sub.i=I.sub.i.Math.(V.sub.i−V.sub.r) [V.Math.μJ/cm.sup.2], a ratio of S.sub.i to S.sub.max, which is represented by AR=S.sub.i/S.sub.max, satisfies AR≤0.10.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate, wherein the photosensitive layer is a laminate having a charge transport layer and a charge generation layer, the charge transport layer contains four or more types of compounds each having a maximum absorption wavelength falling within a wavelength range of from 300 nm to 600 nm in a tetrahydrofuran solution at 25° C., and maximum absorption wavelengths falling within the wavelength range of at least four types of the compounds of said four or more types of the compounds are separated from each other by 10 nm or more.

Provided is an excellent phthalocyanine crystal having high sensitivity and little fluctuation in sensitivity for a humidity change in a use environment and applicable to the martial for solar battery, electronic paper, electrophotographic photoreceptor, etc. Namely, phthalocyanine crystal obtained by bringing a phthalocyanine crystal precursor into contact with an aromatic aldehyde compound to convert the crystal form. Also, provided is an electrophotographic photoreceptor that not only exhibits high sensitivity but also has little fluctuation in sensitivity for a humidity change in a use environment. Further, provided is an electrophotographic photoreceptor cartridge and an image-forming device, both of which can produce a stable quality images for a humidity change in a use environment by using the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTOSENSITIVE MEMBER, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer includes a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer. The charge generating layer contains a phthalocyanine pigment and a first resin. A ratio of the mass of the phthalocyanine pigment to the mass of the first resin is greater than 2.0 and less than 3.5. A ratio A.sub.830/A.sub.783 of a second absorbance A.sub.830 to a first absorbance A.sub.783 of the charge generating layer is at least 0.97 and no greater than 1.10. The first absorbance A.sub.783 is an absorbance of the charge generating layer with respect to first light with a wavelength of 783 nm. The second absorbance A.sub.830 is an absorbance of the charge generating layer with respect to second light with a wavelength of 830 nm.

An electrophotographic photosensitive member, in which occurrences of image defects are suppressed, and a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photosensitive member are provided. In addition, a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus, which include the electrophotographic photosensitive member, are provided. The surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member contains a cured material, and the cured material is a copolymer of a hole transport compound having a chain-polymerizable functional group and a vinyl ester compound containing a long-chain alkyl group.
