Holographic display device and method
A holographic display method includes calculating a hologram, displaying it on a spatial light modulator (SLM) and illuminating it with coherent light. The hologram includes hologram pixels each having a hologram pixel value. The hologram is calculated using steps including: performing the inverse Fourier transform of the product of an object field and a negative quadratic phase exponential representative of positive optical power; and restricting each calculated hologram pixel value to one of a plurality (greater than two) of allowable pixel values to form a constrained hologram, which is displayed on the SLM. Each light-modulating pixel of the SLM is operable in a plurality of light-modulation levels corresponding to the plurality of allowable pixel values. The SLM is illuminated with coherent light to form a replay field including conjugate images: a real holographic reconstruction and a virtual holographic reconstruction having greater intensity than that of the real holographic reconstruction.
Light Field Display System Based Amusement Park Attraction
A light filed (LF) display system for displaying holographic content to viewers in an amusement park (e.g., as part of an amusement park ride). The LF display system in an amusement park includes LF display modules tiled together to form an array of LF modules. In some embodiments, the LF display system includes a tracking system and/or a viewer profiling module. The tracking system and viewer profiling module can monitor and store characteristics of viewers on the amusement park ride, a viewer profile describing a viewer, and/or responses of viewers to the holographic content during the amusement park ride. The holographic content created for display on an amusement park ride can be based on any of the monitored or stored information.
Holographic object and user action combination-based authentication mechanism
Aspects of the present invention provide an approach for authentication of a user of a computer system by displaying holographic objects in a bounded field of view of a user, identifying movement of the user interacting with the holographic objects, comparing the interacting movement to authentication information linking user authentication to a movement defined within confidence limits, and when the identified user movement indicates the user interacted with the displayed holographic objects within the defined confidence limits, authenticating the user on the computer system.
Displaying holograms via hand location
Examples are disclosed that relate to computing devices, head-mounted display devices, and methods for displaying holographic objects using slicing planes or volumes. In one example a computing device causes a display system to display a holographic object associated with a holographic volume, the holographic object occluding an occluded holographic object that is not displayed. Location data of at least a portion of a hand is received from a sensor. The location data of the hand is used to locate a slicing plane or a slicing volume within the holographic volume. Based on the location of the slicing plane or the slicing volume, at least a portion of the occluded holographic object is displayed via the display system.

HOLOGRAM, DETECTION DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR VERIFYING AUTHENTICITY OF HOLOGRAM
A hologram that includes a formation layer and a reflection layer that are laminated. The formation layer has an optical phase modulation structure on a first interface in contact with the reflection layer. When reference light emitted from a point light source enters through a second interface different from the first interface of the formation layer, the entirety or part of an image to be reconstructed by the optical phase modulation structure is reconstructed as spatial information on the point light source side relative to the second interface.
METHOD FOR GENERATING THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE INFORMATION OF OBJECT TO BE MEASURED, DEFECT DETECTION METHOD, AND DEFECT DETECTION DEVICE
This application relates to a method of generating three-dimensional (3D) shape information of an object to be measured from an image including intensity information of an object hologram generated by interference between a reference light reflected from an optical mirror and an object light affected by the object. In one aspect, the method includes checking at least one frequency component included in the image and extracting real image components corresponding to a real image from the frequency component. The method also includes generating a correction light and a real image hologram based on the real image components, generating an intermediate hologram based on the correction light, and generating curvature aberration correction information from the intermediate hologram. The method further includes generating a correction hologram based on the curvature aberration correction information and generating the 3D shape information of the object from the correction hologram.
Three-dimensional holographic visual and haptic object warning based on visual recognition analysis
Presenting a three-dimensional (3D) holographic visual and haptic warning is provided. An indication that a first individual who needs supervision is approaching a situation is received. A three-dimensional (3D) holographic visual and haptic warning is presented to the first individual who needs supervision prior to the first individual reaching the situation.
