Timepiece
Provided is a timepiece including: hands being an hour hand, a minute hand and a second hand; a movement for driving the hands; a first dial; a first dial ring having upper and lower surfaces provided with an upper projection and a lower projection, respectively, the first dial ring being disposed on the first dial and positioned relative to the first dial by the lower projection; and a transparent second dial disposed on the first dial ring and positioned relative to the first dial ring by the upper projection, wherein one of the hands is disposed between the first dial and the second dial, while the others of the hands are disposed above the second dial.
OBJECT PROVIDED WITH AN ELECTRO-OPTIC DISPLAY DEVICE
An object includes an electro-optic display device provided with an optically active element, the optical properties thereof can be modified by applying an electric voltage or current between at least one electrode and one corresponding auxiliary electrode, between which the optically active element is disposed. The object further includes a middle part which delimits an opening closed by a crystal including a bottom surface beneath which the electro-optic display device is arranged. The crystal is provided with an opaque frame which is made remotely from the edges of the opening and which covers the contour of the electro-optic display device so as to conceal electrical connection elements. The electro-optic display device defines an active display area which is confined by the opaque frame, such that, when the electro-optic display device is activated and displaying information, a transparent area remains between the opaque frame and the edges of the opening.
ELECTRONIC WATCH
An electronic watch includes: a time display unit 3 configured to perform time display based on an internal time; a time setting unit (movement 5) configured to set the internal time based on a reference time and a time zone; an operation unit 5 configured to perform at least a selecting operation of selecting one time zone TZ from among a plurality of time zones TZ; and a display unit (facing ring 33) configured to perform time zone display TD corresponding to each of the time zones TZ. The selecting operation is to indicate a time zone display TD to be selected from among a plurality of the time zone displays TD. The time zone displays TD include one or more first displays TD1 based on a city name included in the time zone TZ, a region, or a time difference, and one or more second displays TD2 based on a landmark included in the time zone TZ. A user who uses the electronic watch can correctly select the time zone depending on a purpose of changing the time zone of the user.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SILICON-BASED TIMEPIECE COMPONENT
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a horological component according to which a silicon-based piece having the desired shape of the horological component is produced and the piece is subjected to a thermal oxidation and deoxidation treatment to remove a predetermined thickness of silicon in order to increase the mechanical strength of the piece. This method is characterized in that the thermal oxidation and deoxidation treatment is carried out in several steps, each step including a thermal oxidation phase followed by a deoxidation phase.

SOLAR CELL AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE HAVING THE SAME
A solar cell covered with a transparent plate through a predetermined gap includes a flexible power generating layer which photoelectrically converts light incident thereon through the transparent plate, a resin layer covering a light receiving surface of the power generating layer, and an adhesion preventing layer covering the surface of the resin layer and facing the transparent plate through the gap. The adhesion preventing layer is made of an inorganic material and has a surface roughness Sz of 1 nm or more and 500 nm or less. Thus, the outermost surface of the solar cell is constituted by the adhesion preventing layer, so that no tack mark occurs even when partial contact occurs between the solar cell and the transparent plate which face each other through the gap. As a result, it is possible to prevent deterioration in appearance due to the tack mark.
Timepiece Dial, Timepiece, And Method For Manufacturing Timepiece Dial
A timepiece dial including a base having a first region having a coating film provided at the surface of the base, a second region where laser light is radiated to the first region to remove the coating film, and a third region, in part of the first region, where the coating film is penetrated and the base is dug down, and the surface roughness of the third region is smaller than the surface roughness of the second region.
