LASER-BASED ROTATION SENSOR FOR A CROWN OF AN ELECTRONIC WATCH
An electronic watch includes a housing and a crown assembly including a rotatable actuation member. The rotatable actuation member includes a knob external to the housing and configured to receive a rotational input and a shaft assembly coupled to the knob and positioned at least partially within the housing, the shaft assembly defining a sensing surface configured to rotate in response to the rotational input. The electronic watch further includes an optical sensing system configured to detect the rotational input, the detecting including directing light onto the sensing surface, receiving reflected light from the sensing surface, and producing a signal corresponding to a rotational motion of the sensing surface, the signal based at least in part on an interference between the light directed onto the sensing surface and the reflected light.
Gesture recognition on watch bezel using strain gauges
The technology provides for an electronic device with gesture detection. In this regard, the device may include a housing, and one or more sensors positioned along an inner periphery of the housing. The sensors may be adapted to detect user interaction with an outer surface of the housing. The device may further include one or more processors in communication with the plurality of sensors. The one or more processors may be configured to determine the user interaction and to determine a type of gesture based on the detected user interaction, determine a type of input command based on the determined gesture, and execute a task corresponding to the determined type of input command.
Object provided with an electro-optic display device
An object includes an electro-optic display device provided with an optically active element, the optical properties thereof can be modified by applying an electric voltage or current between at least one electrode and one corresponding auxiliary electrode, between which the optically active element is disposed. The object further includes a middle part which delimits an opening closed by a crystal including a bottom surface beneath which the electro-optic display device is arranged. The crystal is provided with an opaque frame which is made remotely from the edges of the opening and which covers the contour of the electro-optic display device so as to conceal electrical connection elements. The electro-optic display device defines an active display area which is confined by the opaque frame, such that, when the electro-optic display device is activated and displaying information, a transparent area remains between the opaque frame and the edges of the opening.
DETERMINING RELEVANT INFORMATION BASED ON THIRD PARTY INFORMATION AND USER INTERACTIONS
A system for determining relevant information based on user interactions may include a processor configured to receive application data from one or more applications, the application data including features related to user activity from the one or more applications, the one or more application including applications local to the device that are stored in the memory and applications external to the device. The processor may be further configured to provide, using a machine learning (ML) model, a relevance score for each of one or more user interface (UI) elements based on each of the features. The processor may be further configured to sort one or more UI elements based on a ranking of the relevance scores. The processor may be further configured to provide, as output, the one or more UI elements based at least in part on the ranking.
Component Port Fluid Drain
The present disclosure provides a wearable device capable of evacuating fluids. The wearable device includes a component with an aperture, a bae port, and a bypass port. The base port extends outward from the aperture of the component to define a first opening on the wearable device. The bypass port extends outward from the base port to define a second opening on the wearable device. The present disclosure also provides methods for manufacturing a wearable device capable of evacuating fluids.
Dynamic user interface with time indicator
The present disclosure generally relates to a dynamic user interface having an indication of time. The dynamic user interface having the indication of time further includes one or more geometric regions that intersect the indication of time, such that colors of the indication of time are different on opposite sides of a boundary of the one or more geometric regions that intersect the indication of time. The one or more geometric regions may shift and/or change over time, thereby providing a custom and/or unique dynamic user interface having the indication of time.
WATCH WITH BAND DEVICE
Wearable electronic devices, such as watches, can include a watch body and a band device that can be used together or independently of one another. The band device can provide continual operation of its functions even in the absence of the watch body. The assembly of the watch body and the band device can provide secure engagement, communication, and power sharing. Accordingly, neither the watch body nor the band device need to independently include components that provide every function that will be desired by the user. Instead, functions that are desired on a continual or long-term basis can be provided by the band device, and functions that are desired on an intermittent or short-term basis can be provided by the watch body.
WATCH INCLUDING A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING BIOMETRIC ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL DATA
A method controls access to at least one confidential data access to which by a function of a watch requires an identification of its wearer. The method includes authenticating the wearer of the watch to authorise access to the functions of this watch, selecting one of the functions of the watch requiring the use of at least one of the confidential or general data archived in the memory element, determining the category to which the at least one data required by the function belongs, verifying the identity of the wearer of the watch from at least one biometric information element comprised within a portion of the skin of this wearer when the at least one data is the confidential data, and authorizing use of the at least one confidential data by the function as soon as the identity of the wearer of the watch is verified.
Mobile device and mobile device system
A mobile device includes a drive unit for which correspondence between a command that is input and a drive signal that is output to an operation unit is predetermined, and a controller configured to output the command to the drive unit and cause the operation unit to operate. The controller includes a storage unit storing therein a user program including script language and outputs the command in accordance with the user program.
DEVICE TIME-KEEPING STANDARD ADJUSTMENT
One embodiment provides a method, including: monitoring, using an accelerometer integrated with an information handling device, gravitational acceleration experienced by the information handling device; identifying, based on the monitoring, a change in the gravitational acceleration from a first gravitational acceleration metric to a second gravitational acceleration metric; and adjusting, responsive to the identifying, a time-keeping standard referenced by the information handling device based on the second gravitational acceleration metric. Other aspects are described and claimed.
