Apparatuses and methods for writing data to a memory
Apparatuses and methods for writing data to a memory array are disclosed. When data is duplicative across multiple data lines, data may be transferred across a single line of a bus rather than driving the duplicative data across all of the data lines. The data from the single data line may be provided to the write amplifiers of the additional data lines to provide the data from all of the data lines to be written to the memory. In some examples, error correction may be performed on data from the single data line rather than all of the data lines.

METHOD, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR FAILURE HANDLING
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, an electronic device, and a computer program product for failure handling. This failure handling method includes determining a sector set failure type associated with at least one failed sector set of a disk; if the sector set failure type indicates that the number of failed sector sets in the at least one failed sector set is greater than a first threshold number, generating an instruction for replacing the disk; and otherwise performing at least one of the following: migrating data from a failed sector set in which the number of failed sectors is greater than a second threshold number to a spare sector set, and performing a failure recovery for a failed sector set in which the number of failed sectors is less than or equal to the second threshold number.
Node Failure Detection and Resolution in Distributed Databases
Methods and systems to detect and resolve failure in a distributed database system is described herein. A first node in the distributed database system can detect an interruption in communication with at least one other node in the distributed database system. This indicates a network failure. In response to detection of this failure, the first node starts a failure resolution protocol. This invokes coordinated broadcasts of respective lists of suspicious nodes among neighbor nodes. Each node compares its own list of suspicious nodes with its neighbors' lists of suspicious nodes to determine which nodes are still directly connected to each other. Each node determines the largest group of these directly connected nodes and whether or not it is in that group. If a node isn't in that group, it fails itself to resolve the network failure.
System recovery using a failover processor
Techniques for system recovery using a failover processor are disclosed. A first processor, with a first instruction set, is configured to execute operations of a first type; and a second processor, with a second instruction set different from the first instruction set, is configured to execute operations of a second type. A determination is made that the second processor has failed to execute at least one operation of the second type within a particular period of time. Responsive to determining that the second processor has failed to execute at least one operation of the second type within the particular period of time, the first processor is configured to execute both the operations of the first type and the operations of the second type.
Method of using a single controller (ECU) for a fault-tolerant/fail-operational self-driving system
In a self-driving autonomous vehicle, a controller architecture includes multiple processors within the same box. Each processor monitors the others and takes appropriate safe action when needed. Some processors may run dormant or low priority redundant functions that become active when another processor is detected to have failed. The processors are independently powered and independently execute redundant algorithms from sensor data processing to actuation commands using different hardware capabilities (GPUs, processing cores, different input signals, etc.). Intentional hardware and software diversity improves fault tolerance. The resulting fault-tolerant/fail-operational system meets ISO26262 ASIL-D specifications based on a single electronic controller unit platform that can be used for self-driving vehicles.
DISTRIBUTED CONSENSUS METHOD, DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM AND DISTRIBUTED CONSENSUS PROGRAM
A distributed consensus method for performing data consensus processing in a distributed system that couples one or more client apparatuses and a plurality of server apparatuses via a network, the method including a step in which each server apparatus performs data operation according to a predetermined distributed consensus algorithm, a step in which an auxiliary consensus device, which is an auxiliary device that assists in reaching a consensus in the event of a failure in response to a request from each server apparatus, decides an auxiliary consensus decided value, and a step in which the auxiliary consensus decided value is caused to take precedence over the decided value of the distributed consensus algorithm under conditions under which the auxiliary consensus decided value decided by the auxiliary consensus device and the decided value decided by the distributed consensus algorithm can conflict with each other.
APPARATUSES SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATIC SOFT POST PACKAGE REPAIR
Embodiments of the disclosure are drawn to apparatuses and methods for automatic soft post-package repair (ASPPR). A memory may receive a row address along with a signal indicating an ASPPR operation, such as a bad page flag being set. A word line engine generates a physical address based on the row address, and ASPPR registers stores the physical address. The time it takes from receiving the row address to storing the physical address may be within the timing of an access operation on the memory such as tRAS. The row address may specify a single page of information. If the bad page flag is set, then a subsequent PPR operation may blow fuses to encode the physical address stored in the ASPPR registers.
HIGH-AVAILABILITY CLOUD-BASED AUTOMATION SOLUTION WITH OPTIMIZED TRANSMISSION TIMES
The real time capability is to be improved in a Cloud-based control system for an automation plant. To this end, a redundantly embodied, Cloud-based control system with a plurality of computing resources distributed over a network with control applications running thereon is proposed, which, embodied as a primary and backups, execute a control program almost simultaneously and send corresponding program instructions to the automation plant. Long transmission times of individual computing resources therefore do not have a negative effect on the control of the automation plant.
Fail-safe semi-autonomous or autonomous vehicle processor array redundancy which permits an agent to perform a function based on comparing valid output from sets of redundant processors
Techniques are disclosed for processor synchronization within a reconfigurable computing environment for processor array redundancy. Processing elements are configured within a reconfigurable fabric to implement two or more redundant processors, where the two or more redundant processors are enabled for coincident operation. An agent is loaded on each of the two or more redundant processors, where the agent performs a function requiring data validation. The agent is fired on each of the two or more redundant processors to commence coincident operation. The coincident operation can include a lockstep operation. An output data result from each of the two or more redundant processors is compared to enable a data validation result. The data validation result is propagated. The propagating the data validation result can be based on comparing valid output data or can be based on comparing invalid output data.
