Method and system for processing email during an unplanned outage
The method and system of the present invention provides an improved technique for processing email during an unplanned outage. Email messages are redirected from the primary server to a secondary server during an unplanned outage such as, for example, a natural disaster. A notification message is sent to users alerting them that their email messages are available on the secondary server by, for example, Internet access. After the termination of the unplanned outage, email messages received during the unplanned outage are synchronized into the users standard email application.
Device and system including adaptive repair circuit
A device, system, and/or method includes an internal circuit configured to perform at least one function, an input-output terminal set and a repair circuit. The input-output terminal set includes a plurality of normal input-output terminals connected to an external device via a plurality of normal signal paths and at least one repair input-output terminal selectively connected to the external device via at least one repair signal path. The repair circuit repairs at least one failed signal path included in the normal signal paths based on a mode signal and fail information signal, where the mode signal represents whether to use the repair signal path and the fail information signal represents fail information on the normal signal paths. Using the repair circuit, various systems adopting different repair schemes may be repaired and cost of designing and manufacturing the various systems may be reduced.
FAULT-TOLERANT STORAGE SYSTEM
A fault-tolerant storage system includes a first strand comprising a first initiating device connected to a first expansion device of a first set of serially connected expansion devices, a second strand comprising a second initiating device connected to a first expansion device of a second set of serially connected expansion devices, and a plurality of zoning switches that each connect an expansion device in the first set of serially connected expansion devices to a corresponding expansion device in the second set of serially connected expansion devices. A computer program product and method executed by a computer corresponding to the above system are also disclosed herein.
Dynamically erectable computer system
A fault-tolerant computer system architecture includes two types of operating domains: a conventional first domain (DID) that processes data and instructions, and a novel second domain (MM domain) which includes mentor processors for mentoring the DID according to “meta information” which includes but is not limited to data, algorithms and protective rule sets. The term “mentoring” (as defined herein below) refers to, among other things, applying and using meta information to enforce rule sets and/or dynamically erecting abstractions and virtualizations by which resources in the DID are shuffled around for, inter alia, efficiency and fault correction. Meta Mentor processors create systems and sub-systems by means of fault tolerant mentor switches that route signals to and from hardware and software entities. The systems and sub-systems created are distinct sub-architectures and unique configurations that may be operated as separately or concurrently as defined by the executing processes.
Processor Repair
A processor comprises a plurality of processing units, wherein there is a fixed transmission time for transmitting a message from a sending processing unit to a receiving processing unit, based on the physical positions of the sending and receiving processing units in the processor. The processing units are arranged in a column, and the fixed transmission time depends on the position of a processing circuit in the column. An exchange fabric is provided for exchanging messages between sending and receiving processing units, the columns being arranged with respect to the exchange fabric such that the fixed transmission time depends on the distances of the processing circuits with respect to the exchange fabric.
INTELLIGENT DATA PLANE ACCELERATION BY OFFLOADING TO DISTRIBUTED SMART NETWORK INTERFACES
A system for processing data, comprising a compute node having a first processor that is configured to receive a digital data message containing a request for computing services and to allocate processing resources on a private network as a function of the request. A smart network interface controller (NIC) management system operating on a second processor and configured to cause the second processor to select a smart NIC associated with the private network to allocate the smart NIC to the computing services. The smart NIC includes a processor that is configured to interface with a public network and to send and receive data over the public network associated with the computing services.
ERROR-HANDLING FLOWS IN MEMORY DEVICES BASED ON BINS
An example memory sub-system includes a memory device and a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory device. The processing device is configured to detect a power-up state of the memory device following a power loss event; detect a read error with respect to data residing in a block of the memory device, wherein the block is associated with a current voltage offset bin; and perform temporal voltage shift (TVS)-oriented calibration for associating the block with a new voltage offset bin.
Mixed-Criticality Network for Common Unmanned System Architecture
Apparatus and methods for controlling unmanned systems (UMSs), such as unmanned aircraft, are provided. A UMS can be provided that includes a network, auxiliary systems, and a payload, where the network can connect the auxiliary systems and the payload. A network switch of the network can logically separate the network into at least a second tier of communications and a third tier of communications. The network can be used to control the UMS by at least: controlling the auxiliary systems using messages communicated by the second tier of communications, and communicating with the payload using messages communicated by the third tier of communications.
DEVICE, METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
There is provided a device including: a diagnosis unit configured to diagnose an input and output function, in an input and output device that is configured to perform an input and output operation in accordance with the input and output function programmed in programmable circuitry; an error detection unit configured to detect an error of a configuration storage area; and an abnormality determination unit configured not to determine an abnormality of the input and output device when the error of the configuration storage area is detected and the input and output function is diagnosed to be normal.
