Registered applications for electronic devices

The subject technology provides a portion of the functionality of an application on an electronic device on which the application is not installed. The portion of the functionality of the application is provided by a clip of the application that can be obtained, installed, and launched on the user device, at the time the functionality is desired by a user, and without authenticating information for the user. The clip of the application can provide the user with access to a purchase function, an ordering function, or any other sub-function of the application. When the application itself is installed on the device, the clip of the application can be deleted while preserving access, by the application, to data generated on the device by the clip.

Managing input sensitivity of an information handling system

Managing input sensitivity of an information handling system, including performing a calibration and configuration of an input sensitivity management model, including: identifying contextual data associated with the information handling system, the contextual data including i) system characteristics of the information handling system and ii) o user characteristics of a user of the information handling system; identifying historic states of the information handling system, the historic states including for each state in time of the information handling system, inputs to the information handling system and outputs of the information handling system based on the inputs to the information handling system; training, based on the contextual data and the historic states, the input sensitivity management model for determining an input sensitivity of the inputs to the information handling system; performing, after performing the calibration and configuration of the input sensitivity management model, a steady-state monitoring of the information handling system.

RE-ENUMERATION OF USB 3.0 COMPATIBLE DEVICES

A host device can download a firmware update to a peripheral device having previously enumerated with the host device. The host device can perform link training with the peripheral device in response to a re-enumeration indication received from the peripheral device. The link training can include switching a Link Training and Status State Machine (LTSSM) in the host device from an active state (U0) to an RX.Detect state and synchronizing with the peripheral device in the RX.Detect state. The host device can re-enumerate with the peripheral device utilizing the firmware update after the host device completes link training with the peripheral device.

Computing Resource Inventory System

Systems and methods of managing computing resources of a computing system are described. A computing resource list and computing resource information may be stored at a data store. The computing resource list may identify a set of computing resources of a computing system, and the computing resource information may respectively describe the computing resources. The computing resource list may be updated in response to a new computing resource being added to the computing system or in response to an existing computing resource being removed from the computing system. Evaluation tasks for the computing resources may be performed, and a resource evaluation report may be generated during performance of at least one of the evaluation reports.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An information processing apparatus includes: an operating unit capable of recognizing a peripheral apparatus. The operating unit includes: a first recognizing unit configured to recognize, when a peripheral apparatus is connected to the operating unit and identification information about the connected peripheral apparatus is included in peripheral apparatus information including predetermined identification information, the connected peripheral apparatus as a first peripheral apparatus; and a second recognizing unit configured to recognize, when a peripheral apparatus is connected to the operating unit and the identification information about the connected peripheral apparatus is not included in the peripheral apparatus information, the connected peripheral apparatus as a second peripheral apparatus.

APPLICATION UPDATES
20180011771 · 2018-01-11 ·

Described herein are example systems and computer-implemented methods for monitoring changes to an application. For example, information regarding a change made to an aspect of an application may be received by a processor. It, may be determined if a similarity of the change to a cluster of changes related to the aspect is within a change threshold. Further, the change may be associated with the cluster of changes when the similarity of the change is within the change threshold. It may be further determined if a metric based on a number of changes associated with the cluster of changes is within a cluster range. When the metric within the cluster range, a prototype change may be extracted from the cluster of changes. The application may be updated based on the prototype change when the metric is within the cluster range.

CHIPSET RECONFIGURATION BASED ON DEVICE DETECTION
20180011716 · 2018-01-11 ·

Example implementations relate to chipset reconfiguration based on device detection. For example, a method includes detecting, by a computing system, that a storage device is connected to an input/output (I/O) interface of the computing system, and reconfiguring a chipset of the computing system based on the detected storage device. The method also includes performing a power cycle on chipset standby power to trigger a chipset configuration reload.

PERIPHERAL DEVICE OPERATION
20180011772 · 2018-01-11 ·

Example implementations relate to peripheral device operation. For example, a peripheral device may include a processor. The processor may detect that a computing device is in communication with the peripheral device and send peripheral device information to the computing device. The peripheral device information may specify characteristics associated with the peripheral device including a purpose, capability, and context of the peripheral device. The processor may receive operational data from the computing device, where the operational data may be based on the peripheral device information and may indicate a manner of operating the peripheral device. The processor may perform an operation based on the operational data.

ROLLABLE DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

A rollable display device includes a rollable structure including a plurality of unit structures, a display panel structure attached to the rollable structure, and a plurality of magnetic objects on a bezel region of the rollable structure, wherein respective widths of the unit structures increase in a direction from a first side of the rollable structure to a second side of the rollable structure, wherein the unit structures collectively form first through (n)th rolling cycles, as the rollable structure is rolled, and a (k)th rolling cycle encircles a (k−1)th rolling cycle, and wherein the plurality of magnetic objects aligns the (k)th rolling cycle with the (k−1)th rolling cycle by causing a magnetic attraction between the (k)th rolling cycle and the (k−1)th rolling cycle.

CONFIGURATION ASSESSMENT BASED ON INVENTORY

Systems and methods are described for facilitating operation of a plurality of computing devices. Data indicative of enumerated resources of a computing device is collected. The data is collected without dependency on write permissions to a file system of the one computing device. A condition of the computing device is determined based on historical data associated with enumerated resources of other computing devices. The identified condition can be updated as updated historical data becomes available. A communication to the computing device may be sent based on the identified condition.
