Telemetry system extension
A method of operating a telemetry system includes automatically populating a base field of a schema in an event definition using a logging library of the telemetry system for an event of an instrumented application, and automatically populating a conditional field of the schema in the event definition using the logging library in response to a selected condition for the event.
Predicting and managing requests for computing resources or other resources
Requests for computing resources and other resources can be predicted and managed. For example, a system can determine a baseline prediction indicating a number of requests for an object over a future time-period. The system can then execute a first model to generate a first set of values based on seasonality in the baseline prediction, a second model to generate a second set of values based on short-term trends in the baseline prediction, and a third model to generate a third set of values based on the baseline prediction. The system can select a most accurate model from among the three models and generate an output prediction by applying the set of values output by the most accurate model to the baseline prediction. Based on the output prediction, the system can cause an adjustment to be made to a provisioning process for the object.
Communication between independent containers
Techniques related to communication between independent containers are provided. In an embodiment, a first programmatic container includes one or more first namespaces in which an application program is executing. A second programmatic container includes one or more second namespaces in which a monitoring agent is executing. The one or more first namespaces are independent of the one or more second namespaces. A monitoring agent process hosts the monitoring agent. The monitoring agent is programmed to receive an identifier of the application program. The monitoring agent is further programmed to switch the monitoring agent process from the one or more second namespaces to the one or more first namespaces. After the switch, the monitoring agent process continues to execute in the second programmatic container, but communication is enabled between the application program and the monitoring agent via the monitoring agent process.
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for detecting and creating operation incidents
Techniques for determining insight are described. An exemplary method includes receiving a request to provide insight into potential abnormal behavior; receiving one or more of anomaly information and event information associated with the potential abnormal behavior; evaluating the received one or more of the anomaly information and event information associated with the abnormal behavior to determine there is insight as to what is causing the potential abnormal behavior and to add to an insight at least two of an indication of a metric involved in the abnormal behavior, a severity for the insight indication, an indication of a relevant event involved in the abnormal behavior, and a recommendation on how to cure the potential abnormal behavior; and providing an insight indication for the generated insight.
Anti-pattern detection in extraction and deployment of a microservice
Disclosed are various embodiments for anti-pattern detection in extraction and deployment of a microservice. A software modernization service is executed to analyze a computing application to identify various applications. When one or more of the application components are specified to be extracted as an independently deployable subunit, anti-patterns associated with deployment of the independently deployable subunit are determined prior to extraction. Anti-patterns may include increases in execution time, bandwidth, network latency, central processing unit (CPU) usage, and memory usage among other anti-patterns. The independently deployable subunit is selectively deployed separate from the computing application based on the identified anti-patterns.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO SELECT VIRTUALIZATION ENVIRONMENTS DURING DEPLOYMENT
Methods and apparatus to select virtualization environments are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a logic circuit, a workload analyzer to determine characteristics of a virtualized application, a score generator to compare the characteristics of the virtualized application to a plurality of virtualization environment types to determine scores for each of the plurality of virtualization environment types, the scores based on rules that identify different scores for combinations of characteristics and virtualization environment types, and a workload deployer to deploy the virtualized application using one of the plurality of virtualization environment types based on the scores.
EFFECT OF OPERATIONS ON APPLICATION REQUESTS
A plurality of completion times associated with an application request may be obtained. The plurality of completion times may include a first completion time and a second completion time. A plurality of response times associated with a first asynchronous operation triggered by the application request may be obtained. The plurality of completion times may include a first response time associated with the first completion time and a second response time associated with the second completion time. A first correlation score may be determined describing an effect of the first asynchronous operation on the application request based on the first completion time, the second completion time, the first response time, and the second response time. Visualization data may be generated representing the first correlation score.
LIGHTWEIGHT TRACE BASED MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An automotive electronics system includes an electronic control unit and a trace adapter. The electronic control unit is configured to receive measurement signals and provide control signals. Additionally, the electronic control unit is configured to generate or provide trace signals by replacing original instructions in a binary image with trace instructions. The trace instructions are functionally equivalent, but trigger providing the trace signals. The trace adapter is coupled to the electronic control unit. The trace adapter is configured to obtain the trace signals from the electronic control unit.
APPLICATION UPDATES
Described herein are example systems and computer-implemented methods for monitoring changes to an application. For example, information regarding a change made to an aspect of an application may be received by a processor. It, may be determined if a similarity of the change to a cluster of changes related to the aspect is within a change threshold. Further, the change may be associated with the cluster of changes when the similarity of the change is within the change threshold. It may be further determined if a metric based on a number of changes associated with the cluster of changes is within a cluster range. When the metric within the cluster range, a prototype change may be extracted from the cluster of changes. The application may be updated based on the prototype change when the metric is within the cluster range.
Generation, administration and analysis of user experience testing
Systems and methods for generating, administering and analyzing a user experience study are provided. In particular, intents can be generated from a user experience study by applying one or more screener questions to participants and subjecting the screened participants to one or more tasks. Corresponding clickstreams and success data for each participant engaging in the tasks can be recorded. The success and clickstream data can also be aggregated for all the screened participants as aggregated results. Video data including audio for each of the screened participants can also be recorded.
