Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for interacting with a position indicator within displayed text via proximity-based inputs

An electronic device, while displaying a first user interface, detects an input for an input object, detects that first hover proximity criteria are met by the input object, and displays first visual feedback. While displaying the first visual feedback, the device detects a change in a current value of a hover proximity parameter of the input object and that second hover proximity criteria are met by the input object after the change. In response to detecting that the second hover proximity criteria are met, the device displays second visual feedback, distinct from the first visual feedback.

Methods and graphical user interfaces for editing on a multifunction device with a touch screen display

In some embodiments, a device displays content on a touch screen display and detects input by finger gestures. In response to the finger gestures, the device selects content, visually distinguishes the selected content, and/or updates the selected content based on detected input. In some embodiments, the device displays a command display area that includes one or more command icons; detects activation of a command icon in the command display area; and, in response to detecting activation of the command icon in the command display area, performs a corresponding action with respect to the selected content. Exemplary actions include cutting, copying, and pasting content.

Two step content selection with auto content categorization

In a first step of a two step content selection operation, initial content can be selected by detecting movement of a content selection object with respect to a computing device. The selection area can be calculated based on the object movement that is detected. The content within the selection area can be selected and displayed in a second display area in which content of different types are separated into logical units. All or part of the initial content can be enlarged, enabling the second step of the selection operation in which a subset of the initial content is selected. Content can be transformed before being pasted into the target.

DISPLAY DEVICE AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM WITH DISPLAY CONTROL PROGRAM RECORDED THEREON

A display device includes a display section and a control unit. The display section is capable of displaying an image. The control unit includes a processor and, based on operation of the processor in accordance with an operation program, performs a display control of the display section and allows the display section, upon acceptance of a user's instruction to provide a scrolling display of display contents of the display section, to provide a scrolling display of the display contents of the display section in accordance with the instruction. When the image to be displayed is a scroll image displayable by scrolling on the display section, the control unit allows the display section to display, on a display area of the display section, a predetermined portion of the scroll image as a range displayable within the display area.

In an approach to pointer positioning, a computing device receives an instruction to enter a Move Mode. The computing device magnifies, in Move Mode, screen content to generate a virtual display. The computing device displays a first portion of the virtual display and a fixed pointer on the virtual display. The computing device receives physical movement data. The computing device analyzes the physical movement data. The computing device displays a second portion of the virtual display based on the analyzed physical movement data. The computing device receives an instruction to leave Move Mode. The computing device deactivates Move Mode.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND CHARACTERISTIC DISPLAY METHOD

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium has stored therein a program for causing a computer to execute a process for displaying a characteristic, the process includes displaying, on a display, a main screen indicating a first characteristic in a first area of an object to be analyzed; and displaying, on the display, a sub-screen indicating a second characteristic in a second area in the object, the second characteristic being different from the first characteristic, the second area being specified within the main screen, the sub-screen being overlapped on a portion within the main screen, the portion being corresponding to a portion of the second area in the first area.

Adaptive Resolution In Software Applications Based On Prioritization Data

Methods and systems are described for determining an image resource allocation for displaying content within a display area. An image or data capture device associated with a display device may capture an image of a space associated with the user or capture data related to other objects in the space. The viewing distance between the user and the display area (e.g., the display device) may be monitored and processed to determine and/or adjust the image resource allocation for content displayed within the display area. Prioritization data associated with the content may be used to determine and/or adjust the image resource allocation for content displayed within the display area.

A method is performed at an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display and one or more cameras. While device displays a first camera interface, which includes a first camera preview and a first capture affordance for capturing photos with the one or more cameras, the device detects an input that includes movement of a contact across the first camera preview on the touch-sensitive display. In response, the device replaces display of the first camera interface with a second camera interface, which includes a second camera preview and a second capture affordance for initiating capture of video content with the one or more cameras.

Detail-in-context lenses for digital image cropping, measurement and online maps

In one or more implementations, a signal is received selecting a geographic location in an original image of a digital map for display on a display. The original image is distorted to give an appearance of a lens being applied to the digital map for display on the display, the appearance of the lens including a focal region that includes a magnification of the geographic location and a base region that surrounds the focal region.
