Data query method and apparatus

This disclosure provides a data query method and apparatus. The method includes: dividing an object storage system into a plurality of storage spaces based on time slices, establishing a mapping relationship between the storage spaces, the time slices, and operation records, recording time slice information corresponding to a snapshot after generating the snapshot, and implementing services such as a read-only service, a snapshot rollback service, and an object change service based on the snapshot, so as to improve query performance without adding extra storage overheads.

Storage system and data processing method

The functions of a mainframe environment are expanded by leveraging the functions of an open environment. A second storage of an open system externally connected to a first storage of a mainframe system comprises a second main volume of an open environment generated in association with a main logical device of the second storage, and a second sub volume of an open environment generated in association with a sub logical device of the second storage; the first storage comprises a first main volume of a mainframe environment generated in association with the main logical device of the second storage, and a first sub volume of a mainframe environment generated in association with the sub logical device of the second storage; when the first storage receives a data processing request from a host, the first storage reflects the processing request in the second storage and completes the processing; and when the first storage receives an execution request of a prescribed function, the first storage causes the second storage to execute the function.

Methods and systems for cross cluster replication are provided. Exemplary methods include: periodically requesting by a follower cluster history from a leader cluster, the history including at least one operation and sequence number pair, the operation having changed data in a primary shard of the leader cluster; receiving history and a first global checkpoint from the leader cluster; when a difference between the first global checkpoint and a second global checkpoint exceeds a user-defined value, concurrently making multiple additional requests for history from the leader cluster; and when a difference between the first global checkpoint and the second global checkpoint is less than a user-defined value, executing the at least one operation, the at least one operation changing data in a primary shard of the follower cluster, such that an index of the follower cluster replicates an index of the leader cluster.

Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for managing processing, memory, storage, network, and cloud computing to significantly improve the efficiency and performance of processing nodes. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention are directed to an instruction set of an object memory fabric. This object memory fabric instruction set can include trigger instructions defined in metadata for a particular memory object. Each trigger instruction can comprise a single instruction and action based on reference to a specific object to initiate or perform defined actions such as pre-fetching other objects or executing a trigger program.

Techniques for managing context information for a storage device
11579789 · 2023-02-14 · ·

Disclosed herein are techniques for managing context information for data stored within a non-volatile memory of a computing device. According to some embodiments, the method can include (1) loading, into a volatile memory of the computing device, the context information from the non-volatile memory, where the context information is separated into a plurality of silos, (2) writing transactions into a log stored within the non-volatile memory, and (3) each time a condition is satisfied: (i) identifying a next silo of the plurality of silos to be written into the non-volatile memory, (ii) updating the next silo to reflect the transactions that apply to the next silo, and (iii) writing the next silo into the non-volatile memory. In turn, when an inadvertent shutdown of the computing device occurs, the silos of which the context information is comprised can be sequentially accessed and restored in an efficient manner.

Synchronous replication of high throughput streaming data
11579778 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A method for synchronous replication of stream data includes receiving a stream of data blocks for storage at a first storage location associated with a first geographical region and at a second storage location associated with a second geographical region. The method also includes synchronously writing the stream of data blocks to the first storage location and to the second storage location. While synchronously writing the stream of data blocks, the method includes determining an unrecoverable failure at the second storage location. The method also includes determining a failure point in the writing of the stream of data blocks that demarcates data blocks that were successfully written and not successfully written to the second storage location. The method also includes synchronously writing, starting at the failure point, the stream of data blocks to the first storage location and to a third storage location associated with a third geographical region.

Method, device, and computer readable storage medium for managing redundant array of independent disks

Techniques manage a redundant array of independent disks. In such a technique, a response time of a first storage device in the RAID is compared to a first threshold. In response to the response time of the first storage device exceeding the first threshold, the first storage device is configured as a pseudo-degraded storage device, such that the pseudo-degraded storage device is responsive to write requests only.

Technologies for providing shared memory for accelerator sleds

Technologies for providing shared memory for accelerator sleds includes an accelerator sled to receive, with a memory controller, a memory access request from an accelerator device to access a region of memory. The request is to identify the region of memory with a logical address. Additionally, the accelerator sled is to determine from a map of logical addresses and associated physical address, the physical address associated with the region of memory. In addition, the accelerator sled is to route the memory access request to a memory device associated with the determined physical address.

Information processing system, data transfer method and data transfer program

An information processing system includes a first storage system for supplying a primary site, and a second storage system for supplying a secondary site. The first storage system is allowed to execute replication by transferring a processing history of a data volume of the first storage system to the second storage system, and to transfer multiple processing histories collectively. The first storage system integrates histories of multiple write accesses included in the multiple processing histories to be collectively transferred, which are duplicatedly addressed on the volume for transfer.

Cache based flow for a simple copy command

A method and system for cache-based flow of a simple copy command is disclosed. The present disclosure generally relates to methods and systems for executing a simple copy command in a manner that mitigates additional latency in the device. According to certain embodiments, a copy command manager that includes one or more copy command slots is provided. When a simple copy command is received from a host, a copy command slot is allocated to the command, and the simple copy command is copied into the copy command slot. Upon copying the simple copy command to the copy command slot, an overlap table of the data storage device controller is updated to indicate the copy has been completed, and the completion is posted to the host. After posting, the simple copy command is carried out in the background through completion.
