A method for managing a memory buffer, a memory control circuit unit, and a memory storage apparatus are provided. The method includes the following steps. Multiple consecutive first commands are received from a host system. A command ratio of read command among the first commands is calculated. The memory storage apparatus is being configured in a first mode or a second mode according to the command ratio and a ratio threshold. A first buffer is configured in a buffer memory to temporarily store a logical-to-physical address mapping table in response to the memory storage device being configured in the first mode, in which the first buffer has a first capacity. A second buffer is configured in the buffer memory in response to the memory storage device being configured in the second mode, in which the second buffer has a second capacity, which is greater than the first capacity.

TEMPORAL GRAPH ANALYTICS ON PERSISTENT MEMORY

Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that includes a single server to store a portion of a temporal graph to a first memory of the single server, and store a second portion of the temporal graph to a second memory of the single server, wherein an access rate of the first memory is greater than an access rate of the second memory, and wherein a capacity of the second memory is greater than a capacity of the first memory. The single server may also retrieve vertices of the second portion in response to a selectivity of an input query exceeding a cost model threshold.

An improved solid state drive (SSD). The SSD comprising a plurality of non-volatile memory dies, each configured to store at least one block of data associated with one of a plurality of superblocks each containing a plurality of blocks; a volatile memory; and a memory controller. The memory controller configured to store a bit map associated with a first superblock of the plurality of superblocks in the volatile memory, wherein the bit map is configured to indicate whether each of the plurality of blocks is a replacement block, store a block address list in the volatile memory, the block address list is configured to store an address of one or more replacement blocks, and store a replacement block index in the volatile memory associated with the first superblock of the plurality of superblocks, the replacement block index corresponding to the location of an address of a first replacement block of the first superblock in the block address list.

Data integrity protection of SSDs utilizing streams

The present disclosure generally relates to methods of operating storage devices. The storage device comprises a controller comprising first random access memory (RAM1), second random access memory (RAM2), and a storage unit divided into a plurality of streams. When a write command is received to write data to a stream, change log data is generated and stored in the RAM1, the previous delta data for the stream is copied from the RAM2 to the RAM1 to be updated with the change log data, and the updated delta data is copied to the RAM2. The delta data stored in the RAM2 is copied to the storage unit periodically. The controller tracks which delta data has been copied to the RAM2 and to the storage unit. During a power failure, the delta data and the change log data are copied from the RAM1 or the RAM2 to the storage unit.

Catastrophic event memory backup system

A persistent memory unit for a computer system where the memory unit can detect a catastrophic event and automatically backup volatile memory into non-volatile memory. The memory unit can operate with a limited number of power inputs and detect the loss of power and then initiate a backup after the volatile memory of the memory unit has entered a stable self-refresh mode. The memory unit uses an on-board power management interface controller capable of redistributing power from an input power line and generating different power levels for different components on the memory unit.

Elastic persistent memory regions

A system includes a first memory device having a region allocated as a first persistent memory region (PMR) having a first set of pages, a second memory device comprising a non-volatile memory device having a region allocated as a second PMR region having a second set of pages, and at least one processing device, operatively coupled to the first memory device and the second memory device, to implement a PMR mechanism to cause the second PMR region to be accessible through the first PMR region.

Versioning data stored on memory device

Various embodiments enable versioning of data stored on a memory device, where the versioning allows the memory device to maintain different versions of data within a set of physical memory locations (e.g., a row) of the memory device. In particular, some embodiments provide for a memory device or a memory sub-system that uses versioning of stored data to facilitate a rollback operation/behavior, a checkpoint operation/behavior, or both. Additionally, some embodiments provide for a transactional memory device or a transactional memory sub-system that uses versioning of stored data to enable rollback of a memory transaction, commitment of a memory transaction, or handling of a read or write command associated with respect to a memory transaction.
