A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium stores instructions executable by a controller of an information processing apparatus. The instructions cause the controller to perform operations. The operations include: displaying an edit screen, the edit screen being configured to receive a translation instruction, the edit screen including a text area and a print area, the print area being configured to place therein a target text string to be printed; upon receiving on the edit screen an operation for inputting the target text string, displaying the target text string in a first language in the text area; upon receiving on the edit screen the translation instruction for translating the target text string displayed in the text area from the first language into a second language, translating the target text string to obtain a translation data piece representing a translated text string in the second language.

A communication device may include a first type of interface and a second type of interface. The communication device may execute the communication of object data with a mobile device using the second type of interface after executing a specific process for causing the communication device to shift to a communication-enabled state, in a case where it is determined that the communication device is not currently in the communication-enabled state. Also, the communication device may execute the communication of the object data with the mobile device using the second type of interface without executing the specific process, in a case where it is determined that the communication device is currently in the communication-enabled state.

A printing device includes: a communication interface communicable with a server capable of offering a specific printing service under a contract with the printing device; and a controller configured to control transition of an operation mode of the printing device from a non-contract mode without any contract with the server to a contract mode where the printing device is recognized as a contract-covered device eligible for executing specific printing under the contract. In response to receiving a command from the server to execute the transition to the contract mode, the controller is configured to perform: a determination process to determine whether the transition to the contract mode is to be executed; and a mode control process to maintain the non-contract mode without executing the transition to the contract mode against the transition command when the transition to the contract mode is determined not to be executed in the determination process.

A system for securely producing and using high-entropy security information, such as a password. The system includes a printer, a display device, and a generator computer that is connected to the printer and the display device. The generator computer generates the high-entropy set of characters, (e.g., password), and also generates a machine-readable representation of the high-entropy set of characters, (e.g., a barcode). The generator computer causes the printer to print the high-entropy set of characters and the machine-readable representation on paper, and then deletes the high-entropy set of characters and the machine-readable representation from the system. The high-entropy set of characters, (e.g., password), may be entered into a target computer by scanning the barcode on the paper using a barcode scanner connected to the target computer, which is significantly faster than, and eliminates the human error associated with, typing in a high-entropy set of characters.

A printing apparatus includes: a printing section including a plurality of printing elements that performs printing on a medium; a power supply circuit supplying power to the printing section; a control circuit controlling the printing section and the power supply circuit; and a USB-Type-C interface configured to couple an external device and including a data transmission/reception terminal, a power input/output terminal, and a state identification terminal. When the state identification terminal detects that the external device that receives the power via the power input/output terminal is coupled, and the printing section performs printing, an amount of power supplied to the external device is large in a case in which a drive rate of the plurality of printing elements is low as compared with a case in which the drive rate of the plurality of printing elements is high.

Described herein are bioprinters comprising: one or more printer heads, wherein a printer head comprises a means for receiving and holding at least one cartridge, and wherein said cartridge comprises contents selected from one or more of: bio-ink and support material; a means for calibrating the position of at least one cartridge; and a means for dispensing the contents of at least one cartridge. Further described herein are methods for fabricating a tissue construct, comprising: a computer module receiving input of a visual representation of a desired tissue construct; a computer module generating a series of commands, wherein the commands are based on the visual representation and are readable by a bioprinter; a computer module providing the series of commands to a bioprinter; and the bioprinter depositing bio-ink and support material according to the commands to form a construct with a defined geometry.

An information processing apparatus connectable to one or more devices via a network. The apparatus includes a measuring unit measuring an inclination of the apparatus; a determining unit determining whether the inclination of the apparatus relative to a given surface of one of the one or more devices is within a predetermined inclination range; a receiving unit that receives radio waves; an obtaining unit obtaining identification information from the radio waves; a radio wave strength measuring unit measuring strength of the radio waves; a selection unit determining whether to select a given one of the one or more devices based on the strength of the radio waves; and a connection unit connecting the information processing apparatus to one of the one or more devices selected by the selection unit and for which the inclination of the apparatus is within the predetermined inclination range.

A control method of an information processing apparatus including a predetermined application program that cannot acquire predetermined information regarding a communication apparatus using a predetermined method, includes acquiring, in a case where the predetermined information is stored by a different application program that is different from the predetermined application program and can acquire the predetermined information using the predetermined method, the predetermined information stored by the different application program, using the predetermined application program, executing, in a case where the predetermined information stored by the different application program is acquired, processing that is based on the predetermined information stored by the different application program, using the predetermined application program, and displaying a predetermined region for prompting a user to install the different application program, using the predetermined application program.

A server system connectable to a print system including a transmission unit configured to transmit received print data to a printer includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire information indicating an amount of a consumable which is used for printing of transmitted print data to the printer, and a placement unit configured to place an order for the consumable to be used by the printer, based on the acquired information.

A printing system includes a printing device having a digital front end (DFE) and at least one client device that sends print jobs to the printing device. The DFE stores a device capability file that sets forth device and print options available for the printing device. The print options include a priority value, an option type, a grouping option, a print option icon, and a preview overlay graphic. A copy of the device capability file is made available to a client application on the client device. The client application retrieves all the print information from the device capability file. The client application also presents and previews the print options using the appropriate preview graphic overlay.
