The controller executes the first process once and then executes the second process. The first process is a process for back-feeding the continuous body, writing information to the RFID inlet, and then forward-feeding the continuous body until the RFID medium reaches the print start position. The second process is a process for stopping printing on the RFID medium halfway and writing information to the subsequent RFID medium following the RFID medium under printing when the RFID inlet of the subsequent RFID medium reaches the position allowing the communication with the antenna, and then resuming and completing printing on the RFID medium, printing on which was stopped halfway.

This printer performs printing on a print medium having an RFID, and comprises: a communication unit which has a communication part movably provided in a predetermined area along the transport surface of the print medium, and communicates with an IC chip of the RFID; and a detection unit which detects the print medium by means of detection light. The detection unit includes: a light emitting part that emits detection light; a light guide member that guides the detection light emitted from the light emitting part to the print medium; and a light receiving part that receives the detection light via the print medium.

Packaging compliance method

A packaging compliance method comprising: associating a packaging label having a unique first digitally readable element with a unique record in a database; the unique record in the database containing information about an item of produce; applying the packaging label directly to the item of produce or packaging containing the item of produce; packing two or more items of produce into a container having a container label; the container label having a container digitally readable element to determine the required items of produce that should be located within the container; reading all of the unique first digitally readable elements located within the container to obtain the information from the unique records associated with the unique first digitally readable elements; reading the container digitally readable element to obtain information on the required items of produce that should be located within the container; comparing the information from the unique records associated with the read unique first digitally readable elements and information of the required items of produce that should be located within the container to determine if the container contains the required items of produce; rejecting the container if the container does not contain the required items of produce to complete packaging compliance.
