SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING DYNAMIC TAG CONTENT
20220337393 · 2022-10-20 ·

A method is disclosed. The method includes a user device storing a message data template comprising a plurality of data fields. A multi-record message may be generated using the message data template in response to an interaction between the user device and an access device. To generate the multi-record message, the user device may increment a counter stored on the user device to produce a counter value, and generate a dynamic cryptogram. The user device may additionally retrieve a credential. The counter value, the dynamic cryptogram, and the credential may then be incorporated into the plurality of data fields of the message data template to form the multi-record message. The multi-record message may be transmitted to the access device, where the access device forwards the multi-record message to an authorization computer to authorize or deny the interaction.

Item identification via RFID tag secret

A method is provided to determine unique identifiers. A physical item has an RFID integrated circuit (IC) having a unique identifier and a secret. The RFID IC may be configured to provide an identifier portion and a response to a previously sent challenge, where the identifier portion by itself is insufficient to completely identify the IC or item and the response is based on the challenge and the secret. Attempts are made to verify the response using a set of potential secrets determined using the identifier portion. If the response is successfully verified using a certain secret, the secret may then be used to determine one or more other identifier portions. The unique, complete identifier may then be determined from a combination of at least the identifier portions.

DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING UNAUTHORIZED COMMUNICATION OF DATA FROM A MAGNETIC STRIPE DEVICE OR EMBEDDED SMART CHIP DEVICE
20170365134 · 2017-12-21 ·

Disclosed are devices, systems and the like for determining unauthorized communication of data from a card device equipped with a magnetic stripe and/or smart chip. The card device is able to count by recording the number of instances in which the card device has either been swiped at a magnetic card reader or communicated data via an embedded Integrated Circuit (IC). In specific embodiments, the device is further configured to differentiate between authorized swipes/data communications and unauthorized data communications.

RF MODULE AND RF SYSTEM
20170357886 · 2017-12-14 ·

An RF system is provided that includes an RFID card and a reader-writer device. The RFID card includes a substrate, an RFIC element, an antenna coil, and a deformation sensor. The reader-writer device and the RFID card transmit and receive predetermined information between an antenna coil of the RFID card and an antenna coil of the reader-writer device through a magnetic field. The RFIC element transmits the first signal via the antenna coil when the deformation sensor does not detect bending deformation of the substrate, and the RFIC element transmits the second signal via the antenna coil when the deformation sensor detects the bending deformation of the substrate.

RFID tag authentication system

An RFID tag using a physically unclonable function (PUF) generates a response value corresponding to a challenge value, receives an RFID reader ID from an RFID reader, generates a first message authentication code for the RFID reader ID, an RFID tag ID and time information by using, as a secret key, a first response value corresponding to a first challenge value, and transmits, to the RFID reader, the first challenge value, the first message authentication code and the time information of the RFID tag, which are tag identification elements, when the RFID reader ID is received. At this time, the RFID tag shares, with an RFID tag authentication server, the same message authentication code generation function, the RFID tag ID, the first challenge value, and the first response value generated by a PUF module.

Digital identities for physical items

RFID technology may be used to provide digital identities for physical items. An RFID IC attached to or integrated into a physical item contains an identifier for the physical item. Digital identity information associated with the item, such as ownership information, history, properties, and the like, may be located on one or more networks. An entity, after authenticating itself and/or the item, may use the identifier to locate, retrieve, and/or update the item's digital identity information on the network.

Shield element for mounting on an object
09836689 · 2017-12-05 · ·

A shield element for mounting on an object, in particular a flat object, such as a chip card. The object has a base body, an RFID or NFC transponder, a transponder chip and a coil-shaped transmission antenna connected to the RFID or NFC transponder chip. The shield element has a carrier made of non-conductive material. The carrier has a closed or closable conducting path which, upon mounting the shield element on the object, shields the object from the electromagnetic fields generated by an external reading device and directed at the transmission antenna of the RFID or NFC transponder chip.

SEMICONDUCTOR PACKAGE, SMART CARD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SEMICONDUCTOR PACKAGE

A semiconductor package includes a chip, a layer which is thermally coupled to the chip and which is formed from a material having a triggering temperature of greater than or equal to 200° C., starting from which an exothermic reaction takes place, and encapsulating material which at least partly covers the chip and the layer. The layer is configured in such a way and is arranged relative to the chip in such a way that, in the case of a triggered exothermic reaction of the material of the layer, at least one component of the chip is damaged on account of the temperature increase caused by the exothermic reaction.

A portable card includes a resonance circuit of the portable card that wirelessly receives power from an external source, a processor of the portable card that wirelessly transmits a predetermined data sequence in response to the resonance circuit receiving power from the external source, and a set of at least three contacts on an exterior of the portable card, wherein a user bridges the contacts with the user's fingers in a predetermined combination to create a circuit and activate the processor for transmission of the predetermined data sequence.

PHYSICAL CARD ENABLING UTILIZATION BASED ON LOCATION
20220058618 · 2022-02-24 ·

There are provided systems and methods for a physical card having one or more location detection modules A physical payment card may include one or more components to limit card reading of card data stored to the card using a location detection chip. The location detection chip may receive power from a source when inserted to a card reader, and may then determine a location of the card, such as a coordinate location of the card or nearby detected device. The location detection chip may determine if this location or device matches authorized locations stored in a memory of the card. If it does, power may be provided to a card chip of the card. The card chip of the card reads card data from a memory of the card and may then output the card data to the card reader.
