Smart terminal facility and method suitable for the handling of cargo containers
A system and method for operating a terminal facility handling containers may comprise: a sensor set sensing containers entering and/or exiting the facility for providing container identification data and location data to a relational database; and container handling equipment having a sensor set for providing container identification data and location data to the database when a container is grasped and/or released. Sensors may sense when the equipment grasps and/or releases a container for storing a record thereof in the database, and/or geo-tagged identification data and location data relating to carriers that are to pick up and/or to deliver a container is received and stored as records in the database. The relational database contains records representing the current location of each container and each container handling equipment substantially in real time and can estimate arrival time.
Apparatus, method, and system for capturing and re-manufacturing waste
A recycle/re-manufacturing program to enable the collection of products to re-use them in a re-manufacturing processes to create valuable products which can be also be broken down at the end of their lives and re-used. It has been found that the bio-plastic materials can be re-used up to ten times with no degradation in properties. Enabling multiple collections and re-use of the materials. A benefit is that tech factories receive clean waste streams and low-cost materials which can be re-used multiple times.
Integrated Data Capture of Sterile and Non-Sterile Surgical Supplies and Implantables
Computer-implemented systems and methods implement a unified workflow to capture data representing the usage of both sterile and non-sterile surgical assets. Such capture may be performed within, or at the edge of, the sterile field. Item usage data about both sterile and non-sterile items may be machine-captured, such as by using one or more of a bar code reader, RFID tag reader, and image capture device. The item usage data about both sterile and non-sterile items may be captured and stored into a single data store by a single software application executing on a single computer, and displayed by that software application in a single user interface. A user may provide input to that software application to certify both the sterile and non-sterile item usage data.
Systems and methods for identifying and processing a variety of objects
A robotic system is disclosed that include an articulated arm and a first perception system for inspecting an object, as well as a plurality of additional perception systems, each of which is arranged to be directed toward a common area in which an object may be positioned by the robotic arm such that a plurality of views within the common area may be obtained by the plurality of additional perception systems.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF CONDUCTING A BAR CODE SCAN USING AN IMAGING-BASED BAR CODE SCAN DEVICE
Systems and methods of conducting a bar code scan using an imaging-based bar code scan device are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method is performed by an imaging-based bar code device that includes processing circuitry, an optical lens assembly having an image sensor and an optical lens with a focused region at a certain distance in front of the optical lens along an optical axis of the optical lens, a plurality of light emitting elements configured proximate the optical lens and laterally offset from the optical axis. The method includes sending, by the processing circuitry, to each light emitting element, an indication to enable that light emitting element to project a light beam towards the optical axis in the focused region so that the light beams overlap when a target bar code is in the focused region and non-overlap when a target bar code is outside the focused region.
UTILIZATION OF A BARCODE READER TO DETECT A PRINTING ANOMALY
A barcode reader for detecting a printing anomaly is described herein. The barcode reader may receive read data associated with a read operation involving a barcode reader and a barcode. The barcode reader may process, using an anomaly detection model, the read data to determine an anomaly status associated with the barcode being printed by a printer. The anomaly detection model may be trained based on reference decoding metric information associated with corresponding reference images that depict barcodes associated with one or more printing anomalies. The barcode reader may determine, based on the anomaly status, a printer status associated with the printer. The barcode reader may provide an indication of the printer status.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PREPROCESSING IMAGES HAVING ELEMENTS OF INTEREST
At least some embodiments of the present disclosure directs to a method for processing an input image having an embedded element, comprising the steps of: computing one or more histograms of the input image; identifying a range of interest in one of the one or more histograms; and determining, by the processor, a threshold based on the range of interest. In some embodiments, a computing device processes the input image using the threshold to generate an output image.
DEVICE HAVING FUNCTIONAL COMPONENT AND A PLASTIC HOUSING ELEMENT, AND METHOD FOR VERIFYING THE AUTHENTICITY OF SUCH A DEVICE
A functional component and having a partial plastic housing element with a plastic housing wall, the plastic housing wall having a device identification region integrated into the plastic housing wall and thus realizing a constituent part of the plastic housing wall. The device identification region comprising identification elements integrated into the plastic housing wall, those identification elements that realize part of a surface of the plastic housing wall realizing device identification elements, the device identification region being realized individually for the device by the device identification elements, such that the device can be unambiguously identified by means of the device identification region.
Asset management system utilizing a mobile application
An asset management system, comprising: a remote storage device coupled to a controller collectively configured to selectively retain an asset and selectively release the asset to an authorized user; and a mobile device configured to execute a mobile application in communication with one or more of the remote storage device and the coupled controller via one or more networks, wherein the mobile application is operable for directing operation of the one or more of the remote storage device and the coupled controller. The mobile device comprises a QR scanner operable for scanning a QR code and subsequently authorizing the authorized user. The mobile device also comprises a barcode scanner operable for scanning a barcode associated with the asset or a related asset.
CARD PROCESSING DEVICE AND COVER MEMBER
A card processing device is structured to process a card having a plurality of information recording parts from which information is capable of being optically read. The card processing device includes a placing part which is formed with a placing face on which the card is placed, a reading part which is provided on an upper side with respect to the placing face and is capable of optically reading information from at least one information recording part of the plurality of information recording parts, and an attaching part for detachably attaching a cover member which covers the at least one information recording part of the plurality of information recording parts provided on the card which is placed on the placing face.
