EXTRACTING APERIODIC COMPONENTS FROM A TIME-SERIES WAVE DATA SET

A method is described for extracting aperiodic components from a time-series wave data set for diagnosis purposes. The method may include collecting time-series wave data within a controlled environment were a plurality of contrasting conditions can be used in collecting the time-series wave data set. Aperiodic components can be extracted from the time-series wave data set and the aperiodic components can then be fitted to the plurality of contrasting conditions of the controlled environment to product regressed aperiodic components from which diagnostic determination can be made.

INFORMATION PROCESSING UNIT, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

An information processing unit includes: a diagnostic image input section that inputs the diagnostic image; an operation information obtaining section that obtains display operation history information representing an operation history of a user who controls displaying of the diagnostic image; a query image generation section that extracts a predetermined region of the input diagnostic image to generate a query image; a diagnosed image obtaining section that supplies the generated query image and the display operation history information to a diagnosed image search unit and obtains the diagnosed image obtained as a search result by the diagnosed image search unit; and a display control section that displays the diagnostic image and the obtained diagnosed image for comparison.

INVARIANT-BASED DIMENSIONAL REDUCTION OF OBJECT RECOGNITION FEATURES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A sensor data processing system and method is described. Contemplated systems and methods derive a first recognition trait of an object from a first data set that represents the object in a first environmental state. A second recognition trait of the object is then derived from a second data set that represents the object in a second environmental state. The sensor data processing systems and methods then identifies a mapping of elements of the first and second recognition traits in a new representation space. The mapping of elements satisfies a variance criterion for corresponding elements, which allows the mapping to be used for object recognition. The sensor data processing systems and methods described herein provide new object recognition techniques that are computationally efficient and can be performed in real-time by the mobile phone technology that is currently available.

VISUAL RECOGNITION USING SOCIAL LINKS

System, method and architecture for providing improved visual recognition by modeling visual content, semantic content and an implicit social network representing individuals depicted in a collection of content, such as visual images, photographs, etc., which network may be determined based on co-occurrences of individuals represented by the content, and/or other data linking the individuals. In accordance with one or more embodiments, using images as an example, a relationship structure may comprise an implicit structure, or network, determined from co-occurrences of individuals in the images. A kernel jointly modeling content, semantic and social network information may be built and used in automatic image annotation and/or determination of relationships between individuals, for example.

PHOTO-TAKING PROMPTING METHOD AND APPARATUS, AN APPARATUS AND NON-VOLATILE COMPUTER STORAGE MEDIUM

The present disclosure provides a photo-taking prompting method and apparatus, an apparatus and a non-volatile computer storage medium. On the one hand, a user's image information is collected while the user finds view, then the user's face posture information is obtained from the image information, then face posture information of a preset photo-taking template is compared with the user's face posture information, and the user is prompted to adjust the face posture according to a comparison result. The technical solutions provided by embodiments of the present disclosure may implement prompting the user's face posture adjustment while the user finds view and thereby implement providing guidance for the user's face posture, and solve the problem in the prior art about failure to perform photo-taking guidance while the user finds view.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PARTIALLY OCCLUDED OBJECT DETECTION
20180005025 · 2018-01-04 ·

A method for partially occluded object detection includes obtaining a response map for a detection window of an input image, the response map based on a trained model and including a root layer and a parts layer. The method includes determining visibility flags for each root cell of the root layer and each part of the parts layer. The visibility flag is one of visible or occluded. The method includes determining an occlusion penalty for each root cell with a visibility flag of occluded and for each part with a visibility flag of occluded. The occlusion penalty is based on a location of the root cell or the part with respect to the detection window. The method determines a detection score for the detection window based on the visibility flags and the occlusion penalties and generates an estimated visibility map for object detection based on the detection score.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR QUANTIFICATION OF PLANT CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT

A system for measuring chlorophyll concentration in a leaf sample includes a leaf-holding illuminator device with a main body containing a power source, a plurality of switchable light sources emitting light at different spectra (e.g., red and white light from a broadband light source), and a cap detachably secured to the main body using one or more fastening means. The leaf sample is interposed between the main body and the cap and held in place during imaging. The system includes a mobile electronic device having a camera configured to capture an image of the leaf illuminated by the plurality of switchable light sources, the mobile electronic device having wireless connectivity to a network and an application contained therein configured to transfer the images to a remote sever or computer via the network for data processing. A final chlorophyll index value is calculated based on the transferred images.

SHELF SPACE ALLOCATION MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND SHELF SPACE ALLOCATION MANAGEMENT METHOD
20180002109 · 2018-01-04 ·

A shelf space allocation management device manages products allocated on shelves in a store by use of an imaging device. The shelf space allocation management device acquires an image including a position assumed to be changed in allocation status of each product on each shelf; it determines whether each product reflected in the image matches one of pre-recorded images, thus executing a product allocation inspection. Herein, the shelf space allocation management device specifies a position at which a person causes any change in the allocation status of each product on each shelf, and therefore it may control the imaging device to capture an image including the position. It is possible to carry out a product allocation inspection for each period determined in advance depending on the type of each product, or it is possible to carry out a product allocation inspection being triggered by a customer purchasing each product.
