SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMAGE PROCESSING BASED ON OPTIMAL TRANSPORT AND EPIPOLAR GEOMETRY
Systems and methods for image processing for determining a registration map between a first image of a scene with a second image of the scene, include solving an optimal transport (OT) problem to produce the registration map by optimizing a cost function that determines a minimum of a ground cost distance between the first and the second images modified with an epipolar geometry-based regularizer including a distance that quantifies the violation of an epipolar geometry constraint between corresponding points defined by the registration map. The ground cost compares a ground cost distance of features extracted within the first image with a ground cost distance of features extracted from the second image.
METHOD OF IN-PROCESS DETECTION AND MAPPING OF DEFECTS IN A COMPOSITE LAYUP
A method of detecting defects in a composite layup includes capturing, using an infrared camera, reference images of a reference layup being laid up by a reference layup head. The method also includes manually reviewing the reference images for defects, and generating reference defect masks indicating defects in the reference images. The method further includes training, using the reference images and reference defect masks, a neural network, creating a machine learning model that, given a production image as input, outputs a production defect mask indicating the defect location and the defect type of each defect. The method also includes capturing, using an infrared camera, production images of a production layup being laid up by the production layup head, and applying the model to the production images to automatically generate a production defect masks indicating each defect in the production images.
CONSTRUCTION SITE DIGITAL FIELD BOOK FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL SCANNERS
A method, system, and computer product that track scanning data acquired by a three-dimensional (3D) coordinate scanner is provided. The method includes storing a digital representation of an environment in memory of a mobile computing device. A first scan is performed with the 3D coordinate scanner in an area of the environment. A location of the first scan is determined on the digital representation. The first scan is registered with the digital representation. The location of the 3D coordinate scanner is indicated on the digital representation at the time of the first scan.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTRAOPERATIVELY DETERMINING IMAGE ALIGNMENT
Disclosed embodiments determine, at an early stage, suitability of an intraoperative image for further intraoperative surgical analysis. The determination of suitability may be made using a first angle (such as a first obturator angle) based on at least three pelvic feature points in a preoperative image, a corresponding second angle (such as a corresponding second obturator angle) based on at least three corresponding pelvic feature points in an intraoperative image, and by comparing the first angle and the corresponding second angle to determine intraoperative image suitability. The first intra-operative image is indicated as suitable for further intraoperative analysis when an absolute value of a difference between the first angle and the corresponding second angle does not exceed a threshold. When the intraoperative image is determined as unsuitable for further intraoperative analysis, an indication of a movement direction for a fluoroscopy camera used to capture the intraoperative image is provided.

REGISTRATION CHAINING WITH INFORMATION TRANSFER
A registration chaining system provides information transfer along a chain of registrations of images of same or different modalities. A registration at each link is based on a shared feature readily distinguished in a pair of images. The information is transferred using the registration.

IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
An image processing device includes a hardware processor. The hardware processor designates, from one frame image of a dynamic image acquired by dynamic imaging of a movement of a locomotorium, a plurality of regions or points on a structure included in the locomotorium, sets an alignment reference based on the designated regions or points, tracks the designated regions or points in a plurality of frame images of the dynamic image, aligns a line segment connecting the regions or the points to each other in the plurality of frame images based on the alignment reference, and causes a display to display the line segment so as to be superimposed on a representative frame image of the dynamic image.

System and Method for Fusion of Volumetric and Surface Scan Images
A system and method for generating a fusion of volumetric images and surface scan images said system comprising: a processor configuring the system to: receive both a volumetric image tooth mesh and surface scan image tooth crown mesh from a same patient, registered to a similar coordinate system; segment by anatomical structure each of the registered meshes that are in common between each of the registered volumetric image tooth mesh and the surface scan tooth crown mesh; and recognize a fusion vertices for each of the segmented volumetric image tooth mesh and segmented surface scan tooth crown mesh for matching the recognized meshes; remove a surface fragment from the matched volumetric image mesh in common with the matched surface scan image mesh for removal from the volumetric image mesh; and fuse the meshes by triangulating the recognized fusion vertices.
