Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed that decode purchase data using an image. An example apparatus includes a dictionary including associated product descriptions and barcodes, interface circuitry, and processing circuitry to execute machine readable instructions to obtain purchase details and barcodes corresponding to a receipt, the purchase details including receipt product descriptions, generate a search query that includes a first receipt product description of the receipt product descriptions, a list of barcodes corresponding to the barcodes, and a store identifier associated with the receipt, execute a search against the dictionary using the search query to identify a barcode from the list of barcodes that corresponds to the first receipt product description, and in response to identifying the barcode that corresponds to the first receipt product description, associating the barcode and the first receipt product description and adding the association to the dictionary.

A determination system includes an imaging data acquisition device that captures an image of a printed surface of a printed product to acquire imaging data of the captured image, and a determination device that determines a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product for capturing an image by the imaging data acquisition device. The determination device selects a determination area included in the captured image, extracts a determination end image from a portion around an end portion of a black determination image included in the determination area, acquires difference data that is a difference in gradation between two colors among gradation data of RBG colors of the extracted determination end image, acquires a determination value for determining a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product, and determines a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product.

Systems, methods and techniques for automatically recognizing two or 3-dimensional real world objects with an augmented reality display device (smartphone or glasses etc.), and augmenting or enhancing the display of such real world objects by superimposing virtual images such as a still or video advertisement, an opportunity to buy, a story or other virtual image presentation. In non-limiting embodiments, the real world object includes visible features including visible security features and a recognition process takes the visible security features into account when recognizing the object and/or displaying superimposed virtual images.

The method may include, in response to electronically receiving a document, automatically classifying the document and different parts of the document, by electronically identifying a document type associated with the document and electronically tagging data associated with the different parts of the document based on classification rules. The method may further include automatically extracting the tagged data associated with the automatically classified document based on data extraction rules. The method may further include detecting first feedback associated with the classification rules and second feedback associated with the data extraction rules. The method may further include automatically generating and updating validation rules based on the identified document type, the detected first feedback, and the detected second feedback to validate the automatically classified document and the automatically tagged and extracted data.

Methods and systems to synthesize information from multiple discrete and unrelated documents, and from the synthesized information verify the identity of an individual to a high degree of trust are described. Information is adaptively synthesized from varied documents, and through generation of document confidence scores. Enrollment requirements for a trusted identification are evaluated in a real-time environment. The enrollment requirements may represent a minimum level of documentation required to sufficiently verify an individual's true identity in order to permit issuance of the trusted identification. Once sufficient documentation has been obtained and validated to meet or exceed enrollment requirements, the documentation (including any original source copies of any documentation) is securely submitted to the trusted identification issuing authority.

A method for authenticating a food package holding a food product can include receiving sample image data depicting the food package, identifying a sample print feature sub-set of the food package, identifying a sample geometric feature sub-set of the food package, generating a sample feature set based on the sample print feature sub-set and the sample geometric feature sub-set, receiving a reference feature set, wherein the reference feature set is generated based on a reference print feature sub-set and a reference geometric feature sub-set identified in reference image data, wherein the reference image data is captured in a food packaging system arranged to produce food packages, comparing the sample feature set and the reference feature set, and in case of match, providing an indication that the food package is authentic.

A method for authenticating a food package holding a food product can include receiving sample image data depicting the food package, identifying a sample print feature sub-set of the food package, identifying a sample geometric feature sub-set of the food package, generating a sample feature set based on the sample print feature sub-set and the sample geometric feature sub-set, receiving a reference feature set, wherein the reference feature set is generated based on a reference print feature sub-set and a reference geometric feature sub-set identified in reference image data, wherein the reference image data is captured in a food packaging system arranged to produce food packages, comparing the sample feature set and the reference feature set, and in case of match, providing an indication that the food package is authentic.

An augmented reality method using a mobile device having a display screen and a camera, the method includes receiving an image of a physical object from the camera, the physical object incorporating a machine-readable code, detecting the machine-readable code in the image of the physical object, decoding the machine-readable code, determining a website address of a website in response to decoding the machine-readable code, automatically navigating to the website according to the website address, and automatically receiving a video stream from the website and playing the video on the display screen of the mobile device superimposed over the image of the physical object.
