SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING AND BILLING USING A WIRELESS VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SERVICE
A vehicle charging station for use in transmitting charging power to an electric vehicle for use in charging the vehicle is configured to communicatively couple to the electric vehicle via a network connection to a wireless network provider and electrically couple to the electric vehicle via a connector. Vehicle charging station is further configured to receive a unique identifier from the electric vehicle via the network connection, deliver a quantity of electrical charging power to the electric vehicle via the connector, and meter the quantity of electrical charging power delivered to the electric vehicle.
OPERATING SMART SENSORS USING DISTRIBUTED LEDGERS
A distributed ledger based utility system architecture may be configured to enable secure payments, data transmission, and meter configuration of smart sensors. The utility system architecture may be a tiered architecture including multiple nodes at different levels of the architecture where each level may contain a different portion of the distributed ledger. As information is added to the distributed ledger, each portion of the distributed ledger may be updated based on whether the information is relevant to that node. The information may include rate contract transactions, meter configuration data transactions, payment transactions, or the like.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A FUEL DISPENSER
An improved control system for a fuel dispenser solves the problems of the prior art by enabling processing of prepaid fuel discount cards that discount only the wholesale price component of the per unit retail fuel price. The control system recalculates the per unit retail price based upon the applied discount. Upon purchase of the prepaid fuel discount card, a snapshot of the wholesale price components is taken of all fuel dispensers in a region and locked in for the purchaser at the time of purchase of the prepaid discount fuel card. A central server performs back office processing and recalculates the retail per unit price of fuel at the time of delivery of the fuel based upon a discount applied to the per unit wholesale price component for the fuel dispenser location where the fuel is being delivered. With the novel system disclosed herein, the wholesaler can control the amount of the discounts applied to the retail unit price of fuel. The system enables the wholesaler to create an elastic demand for the fuel and gain customer loyalty for fuel credit cards. Initially the purchaser deposits an initial amount of money in the account. Deposits are associated with four different asset management accounts according to predetermined criteria. Before or at the time of delivery, the purchaser can allocate the asset management account to be debited for gasoline delivered. The invention allows the buyer to take advantage of lower gasoline prices without the current necessity of immediate consumption in a continuous process.

Ink billing system with changeable billing rate table
An ink billing system is used between a client company X 200 that prints information and a printer manufacturer that supplies ink cartridges (or toner) to company X 200. Company X 200 has a main server 210, a plurality of in-store servers 220, 230 in communication with the main server, and a plurality of inkjet (or laser) printers 240 each having an ink cartridge 20 (or toner) for printing according to commands from the in-store server 220, 230. When billing company X 200 based on the number of ink shots (or drum charging time) used by the printers 240 and stored on the main server 210, the terminal device 100 of the printer manufacturer changes the billing rate per unit of ink according to the ink shot count (or drum charging time).
