The processor can be configured to recognize when a vehicle first occupies the first parking space.

City parking services with area based loyalty programs

Apparatus and methods related providing city services, such as parking, are described. Methods and apparatus for providing parking rewards programs are described. The methods and apparatus can include maintaining accounts for participants in the rewards program, tracking purchases of parking and other participant activities and determining parking awards based upon the activities. The parking rewards programs can be used to incentivize behaviors that balance the use of the parking space commodity according to the needs of different stakeholders, such as the city, residents, merchants and visitors. For example, parking awards and the criteria used for earning awards can be used to encourage particular behaviors while a parking space is being utilized, such as shopping, the use of public transportation or efficient trip planning.

Instant personal electronic parking system and method

A personal electronic parking system and method adapted to identify, track, predict, alert, manage and collect payment, and enforce on-street and off-street parking, the system including a central cloud network adapted to generate and manage user data and parking data, a user interface adapted to show users parking information relevant to the user, a unique machine-readable code, wherein the code provides identification of a specific vehicle used by the user, one or more sensors, one or more meter devices adapted to connect with the central cloud network and the user interface, and a parking payment and enforcement portal.

Parking meter system

A parking monitoring and managing method can include capturing image data of a vehicle entering a parking lot or space and transmitting the image data to a remote networked computer system. A time of entry for the vehicle is recorded. Identification of the vehicle is determined upon entry. Image data is also captured for the vehicle when it exits the parking lot or space, and the image data is transmitted to the remote networked computer system. A time of exit is also recorded. The vehicle's identification is again determined upon exit. A violation is determined when a time period expires without the vehicle exiting the lot prior the time period expiring. A parking violation notice is issued to the owner of the vehicle determined to have been in violation. The time period can be, for example, a grace period, a parking time period or a maximum parking time.

A parking meter detects an object in proximity, based on a change in a proximity measurement at the meter, activates a directional sensor in response to detecting the object, receives sensor data at a meter processor from the directional sensor, wherein the received sensor data indicates a predetermined direction to the detected object relative to the meter. The parking meter determines a presence of the object, or lack thereof, in the predetermined direction based on the sensor data, and upon a positive determination of the presence of the object, stores an indication of the presence of the object along with a time of the positive determination.

The disclosure provides a parking management system and a parking management method. The parking management system can comprise one or more servers in communication with one or more vehicles. The one or more vehicles can be configured to be shared and utilized by one or more users for transportation. The one or more servers can be configured to receive location data from the one or more vehicles, and determine, based on the received location data and for each vehicle, whether the vehicle is located within one or more predefined parking areas when (1) the vehicle is not in use or (2) upon completion of a transportation trip by the vehicle.

Parking meter system

A parking meter includes a housing, processor, memory, network interface, graphical user interface, first camera disposed in the housing and facing outward from the first side of the housing, microphone, speaker, second camera disposed in the housing and facing outward from the housing towards a parking space, a status light, and a payment acceptor. The meter is configured to sense a vehicle's presence in the parking space, capture an identification of the vehicle, transmit the identification to a remote networked computer system, determine that a parking violation has occurred, transmit the notice to the remote computer system, accept payment of fines, transmit notice of fine payment to the remote computer system, transmit a time of the vehicle's exit from the first parking space to the remote computer system via the network interface, and reset the parking time period to zero upon the vehicle's exit from the parking space.

SYSTEM FOR MANAGING PARKING SPACES USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMPUTER VISION

A parking space management system comprising a plurality of parking meters and a backend server. Each of the parking meters includes a respective main body, processor, sensor and transceiver. The sensor is configured to sense visual information relating to one or more parking spaces associated with the respective parking meter and the transceiver is configured to externally transmit the sensed visual information. The backend server remotely controls the parking meters. The backend server receives the transmitted sensed visual information from the parking meters, processes the received sensed visual information via computer vision to determine an occupancy status of the parking spaces associated with the parking meters, and controls the parking meters to display a first status notification indicative of the determined occupancy status of the associated parking spaces. The backend server also establishes a reservation for selected parking spaces and controls each parking meter associated with each reserved parking space to display a second status notification indicative of the reservation. Additional features and capabilities also are provided.

A fuel dispensing installation employs multiple fuel islands with fuel dispensers and multiple fuel/travel lanes. The installation employs a communication/controller system for automatically identifying a vehicle, and upon authorizing the vehicle, allowing fuel to be dispensed to said vehicle, determining the quantity of fuel dispensed to the vehicle and securing the dispenser when the vehicle leaves a detection zone. The detection system employs RFID tags placed at both the driver side and the passenger side of the vehicle. Generally oppositely oriented antennas define a detection zone for each of the lanes. A light indicates whether the vehicle is authorized for receiving fuel.
