A method of payment terminal operation, including: receiving a payment collection request for a payment from an application, generating a payment initiation request for the payment, sending the payment initiation request to a secure processing system, switching the secure processing system from operation in an unsecured mode to operation in a secured mode in response to receipt of the payment initiation request, facilitating payment information entry, and receiving a payment response notification, generated based on the payment information, at the main processor.

In one embodiment, the information graphic includes a first graphic element to display first information associated with at least one first account and a second graphic element to display second information associated with at least one second account. A first portion of the second graphic element is selectable to alternately virtually hide and display a second portion of the second graphic element.

A tag reading unit includes an antenna configured to emit radio waves toward the product in the accommodation region and then receive a response signal. The outside portions of the first side surface, the second side surface, and the back surface reflect radio waves. An inside portion of the back surface is a radio wave transmitting material. There is a gap left between the inside portion and the outside portion of the back surface portion.

The camera also images the vicinity of the placing section and the storage section. Acquired images are stored in a data storage device. The processor executes commodity registration processing based on the commodity symbols and then commodity settlement processing after the commodity registration.

The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to receiver user photograph data including multiple photographs of the user, determine an emotive state of the user in each of the photographs, categorize each photograph into at least a user positive emotion category and a user negative emotion category, receive spending behavior data, generate a user spending alert based on the spending behavior data including a photograph from at least one of the user positive emotion category and the user negative emotion category, and present the spending alert to the user.

Techniques for conducting transaction(s) between a merchant and customer(s) via a multi-device point-of-sale (POS) system is described. The multi-device POS system can include a customer-facing device having a first processor for processing first instructions for presenting a customer user interface (UI) on a display of the customer-facing device. The customer-facing device can include a payment reader that is accessible by the one or more customers. Further, the multi-device POS system can include a first merchant-facing device having a second processor for processing second instructions for presenting a first merchant UI, which can enable the merchant to perform a first action associated with a first transaction of the one or more transactions. The first merchant-facing device can be coupled to the customer-facing device. The multi-device POS system can further include an application, which can be stored on the customer-facing device, a second merchant-facing device, or a personal device, for presenting a second merchant UI enabling the merchant to perform a second action.
