DETECTION OF ANIMATE PRESENCE WITH AN ULTRASONIC SIGNAL
A system for monitoring animate presence, including one or more ultrasonic transducers configured to transmit an ultrasonic signal comprising a train of pulses of a selected frequency, one or more ultrasonic receivers configured to receive an echo signal in response to the transmitted ultrasonic signal, the echo signal including multiple pulses in response to the train of pulses of the transmitted signal, an electronic circuit for comparing the transmitted signal to the received echo signal to identify a phase shift between the transmitted signal and the received echo signal, and additionally identifying differences between the multiple pulses of the received echo signal; wherein the electronic circuit identifies animate presence based on the identified phase shift and the identified differences.
Detection of animate presence with an ultrasonic signal
A system for monitoring animate presence, including one or more ultrasonic transducers configured to transmit an ultrasonic signal, one or more ultrasonic receivers configured to receive an echo signal in response to the transmitted ultrasonic signal, an electronic circuit for comparing the transmitted signal to the received echo signal and identify a phase shift between the signals; wherein the electronic circuit identifies animate presence based on the identified phase shift.
Porch piracy parcel theft prevention system and method
A porch piracy parcel theft prevention system and method includes a delivery location apparatus configured for adaption to a building to receive a parcel, the delivery location apparatus including a sensor and a parcel locking mechanism. The sensor is configured to detect the presence of a delivered parcel placed into the line of sight of the parcel detecting sensor. The parcel locking mechanism is armed upon entry of a carrier code and disarmed upon entry of a user code. When armed, the parcel locking mechanism is configured to trigger an alarm when the parcel detected locking mechanism detects removal of the parcel from the line of sight of the parcel detecting sensor. When disarmed, the package may be removed from the line of sight of the parcel detecting sensor without tripping the alarm. Among other uses, helps prevent parcel theft from single family dwellings.
DATA CENTER SECURITY SYSTEM
Sensors, systems, and methods for data center security are provided. In one example, a data center monitoring system includes at least one sensor configured to be attached to a fixture in a data center. The sensor is configured to transmit a wireless signal for detecting an unauthorized access attempt to the fixture. The system also includes at least one monitoring device configured to communicate with the at least one sensor. The monitoring device is configured to receive a signal from the at least one sensor indicative of the unauthorized access attempt to the fixture.
The Invisible Acoustic Safe
The present disclosure describes a system and method designed to protect the contents of a region or space within a facility (e.g., building, home, vehicle, outdoor space, etc.). The system is configured to identify an area to be protected (e.g., nightstand, medicine cabinet, safe), monitor surroundings, and manage and deploy response(s) to threats to the region or space under protection. The system may also be configured to provide incremental warnings, interventions, or countermeasures to deter people or animals from accessing the Protected Space.
Wearable ultrasonic sensors with haptic signaling for blindside risk detection and notification
Devices, non-transitory computer-readable media and methods for providing a haptic signal based upon a detection of an object are disclosed. For example, the processor of a device may transmit a first ultrasonic signal via an ultrasonic emitter and detect an object based upon a receiving of a reflected signal via an ultrasonic detector, where the reflected signal comprises a reflection of the first ultrasonic signal from the object. The processor may further monitor for a second ultrasonic signal via the ultrasonic detector. The device may be associated with a user, and the second ultrasonic signal may be associated with a teammate of the user. The processor may also select whether to provide an instruction to a haptic actuator when the object is detected, based upon whether the second ultrasonic signal is received via the ultrasonic detector.
PRESENCE DETECTION USING ULTRASONICS AND AUDIBLE SOUND
A system includes a speaker, a microphone, a display, and one or more hardware processors coupled to the speaker, the microphone, and the display. At least one of the one or more hardware processors is operable to perform operations that include: transmitting an ultrasonic audio signal from the speaker; capturing, by the microphone, sounds in the room, wherein the sounds include an ultrasound portion and an audible portion; estimating a room impulse response based on the ultrasound portion; determining that the estimated room impulse response is different from a default room impulse response; determining, based on the audible portion, that there is non-stationary audible sound in the room; and in response to determining that the estimated room impulse response is different from the default room impulse response and that there is non-stationary audible sound in the room, switching on the display of the computing system.
Using A Vehicle To Provide Home Security
Exemplary embodiments described in this disclosure are generally directed to using a vehicle to provide building security. In one exemplary embodiment, a computer that is provided in a vehicle is communicatively coupled to various sensors included in an anti-theft security system of the vehicle. The computer automatically activates a building security procedure upon determining that the vehicle has entered, or is located inside, a geofence of a residence. The sensors are configured to detect a security event that may take place near the residence. For example, a motion sensor may be used to detect a burglar approaching the residence or a sound detector may be used to detect shattering of a glass window of the residence. Upon detecting such a security event, the anti-theft security system of the vehicle may transmit a security alert to an individual and/or a monitoring service.
