INFERRING AND REPORTING WELL-BEING STATUS FROM SENSED UTILITY USAGE
The present invention involves individualized, non-intrusive monitoring of a person to determine health, well-being and ability to live independently or with minimal and tailored assistance. One or more sensors collect data corresponding to usage of utilities in a person's residence. This sensor data is processed in near-real time to compare present usage patterns to past usage or other standards. Algorithms identify when usage data patterns indicate cause for concern or that attention or intervention is required. Additionally, mechanisms are provided that allow interested persons to check status or receive alerts concerning the monitored person's health and well-being status and when attention or intervention is advantageous.
SENSING PERIPHERAL HEURISTIC EVIDENCE, REINFORCEMENT, AND ENGAGEMENT SYSTEM
Systems and methods for identifying a condition associated with an individual in a home environment are provided. Sensors associated with the home environment detect data, which is captured and analyzed by a local or remote processor to identify the condition. In some instances, the sensors are configured to capture data indicative of electricity use by devices associated with the home environment, including, e.g., which devices are using electricity, what date/time electricity is used by each device, how long each device uses electricity, and/or the power source for the electricity used by each device. The processor analyzes the captured data to identify any abnormalities or anomalies, and, based upon any identified abnormalities or anomalies, the processor determines a condition (e.g., a medical condition) associated with an individual in the home environment. The processor generates and transmits a notification indicating the condition associated with the individual to a caregiver of the individual.

INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
An information processing system includes: a receiver that receives a signal transmitted by a call button including a push button, and a communicator which transmits the signal outside in response to detection of an operation performed on the push button by a user; and an outputter that outputs (i) first notification information, when the signal is received in a first time period within a predetermined period, and (ii) second notification information different from the first notification information, when the signal is received in a second time period within the predetermined period which is different from the first time period.
SMART TEMPERATURE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEM
Examples provide a temperature-sensitive alert device that monitors temperatures associated with a heating device, such as an oven, stove, or cooktop. The alert device changes the status of the heating device from an off status to an on status if the temperature exceeds a threshold temperature. The alert device initiates an alert if the heating device remains turned on for a period of time which exceeds an expected amount of time. The alert can include an audible sound and/or a visual alert, such as a flashing light. A user can select a snooze function to turn off the alert for an alert delay time without disabling the alert device. When the delay time expires, the alert resumes. The alert device includes a dual component device enabling a first component monitoring a cooktop to synchronize with a second alert device monitoring another heating device, such as a detached oven or stove.
Dementia symptom detection system and program
A dementia symptom detection system includes an information processor which determines the level of dementia of a user based on (i) a reference value which is for an index corresponding to behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and which is determined based on the history of the activity amount stored in storage and the history of device operation information stored in the storage, and (ii) a personal value of the user which is for the index and which is determined based on the detected activity amount of the user and the obtained device operation information of the user.

System and method of non-intrusive alerts for monitoring vulnerable people
An exemplary system can generate an alert to a caregiver or other concerned parties when a usage pattern of a multimedia device differs by a preset amount. The multimedia device can record typical usage of the device and determine a pattern. The pattern is compared with real-time usage to determine when a different pattern is being done and if it is outside a preset amount generate an alert to a caregiver. This allows for non-intrusive monitoring of individuals that use the multimedia device on a regular basis.
