A system, method, and apparatus are provided to facilitate social distancing. The system issues alarms based on the distance between a user and an object and one or more variable social distancing thresholds. The system enables trade-offs between risk and a desire to have in-person interaction for different activities by using one or more variable social distancing thresholds that may be based on social distancing guidelines and various characteristics.

A hygienic behavior monitoring system configured to use sensors to detect instances of hygienic behaviors. The hygienic behavior monitoring system includes a presentation unit that presents one or more media items and a processing unit that indexes behavioral instances. An analytic unit calculates instances of one or more hygienic events based at least in part on a fusion of sensor signals including instances of the actions of a sanitary device with instances of detected human presence.

According to one or more embodiment, a hygiene management device includes a processor. The processor determines based on image recognition whether a plurality of predetermined procedures of a hand-washing action have been completed by a subject. The processor executes different types of processing, such as, for example, opening or closing a passage, depending on completion or incompletion of each of the plurality of predetermined procedures.

Haptic reminders and related technologies are described in which a wearable first article receives a rule. In some variants the rule was used in a second article and the delivery is programmatically conditioned upon one or more articles like the second article having worked well enough with the rule. The received rule occasionally triggers haptic energy via the first article to remind the wearer to eat more slowly, hydrate or exercise more often, or otherwise perform better. Such reminders may serve other purposes or be conditionally extended if a wearer does not improve. Other improved modes of discernment and notification are also presented.

Examples of systems and methods to encourage compliance with hand hygiene recommendations are disclosed. A request for a cleansing agent in a cleansing agent dispenser can be received. A compliance timer can be created upon receiving the request. A subsequent request for a towel from a towel dispenser can be deemed out of compliance with hand hygiene recommendations if the request was received before expiry of the compliance timer.

Among other things, systems to encourage compliance with hand washing procedures can include: an infrared emitter that projects a first infrared beam with a transverse cross-section having a first axis and a second axis that is shorter than the first axis, the transverse cross-section having a maximum length along the first axis, the infrared emitter modulating the first infrared beam to transmit a first identification signal; wherein the infrared emitter projecting the first infrared beam is placed such that the first axis of the transverse cross-section of the first infrared beam is substantially parallel to a boundary.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for group identification and monitoring. The methods, systems, and apparatus include actions of determining, using one or more first frames of a video sequence, that two people each of whom is depicted in at least one of the first frames satisfy a grouping criteria that indicates that the two people should be grouped for video analysis, determining, using one or more second frames of the video sequence at least some of which were captured after the one or more first frames and which depict at least one of the two people, that the two people satisfy a degrouping criteria that indicates that the two people should not be grouped for video analysis, determining that a physical distance between the two people violates a distance criteria, and providing an alert that the distance criteria is violated.

An operating room monitoring system (ORMS) may be uniquely configured for a particular operating room in order to provide custom monitoring and responses based on the unique characteristics of that operating room. The ORMS includes a sensor array of individual sensors placed around the operating room in positions determined by the type of sensor and the unique characteristics of the operating room. Data from the sensor array is collected and analyzed using an infection-reduction protocol. Analyzed data may include images and video, proximity data, airflow data, and climate data, for example. Protocol violations may result in tailored responses such as automatic adjustment of HVAC equipment, or generalized responses such as room-level visual or audible alerts. A dashboard interface may be displayed on various devices that provides sensor data, environmental quality data, risk picturing, and other information usable to mitigate infection risks.

A system for physical-distancing detection in a specified area includes a locator locating a positioning quadrangle plane in a specified area; an image-capturing device obliquely capturing an image of the specified area to generate a captured image of the specified area; and a coordinate converter defining a coordinate conversion function according to raw coordinates of selected points of the positioning quadrangle plane in the captured image of the specified area and reference coordinates of the selected points of the positioning quadrangle plane in an overlooked image of the specified area. The image-capturing device converts raw coordinates of the captured image of the specified area into converted coordinates of the overlooked image of the specified area by way of the coordinate conversion function, determines a physical-distancing condition between two persons according to the converted coordinates, and automatically takes an action corresponding to the physical-distancing condition.

The exemplary embodiments disclose a method, a computer program product, and a computer system for managing sanitation. The exemplary embodiments may include collecting data of one or more assets, extracting one or more features from the collected data, and evaluating a state of sanitation of the one or more assets based on applying one or more models to the extracted features.
