Provided is a custom printed, side and/or back lit with a LED lighting system (referred to as INK LITES) that can be used as a hard wired device as well as a battery powered mobile unit. More specifically, our custom printed LED lights (INK LITES) can be used as a wall decoration, desk light, ceiling light, mobile light for a vehicle, or mobile light used in a personal backpack. Custom and licensed images are printed in the removable, translucent acrylic insert, which can easily be exchanged throughout the lifetime of the lighting system. The screw in pegs on the back of the light can be used to support the desk light in a horizontal or vertical position or removed so that the light can be placed on the wall. When used with the motion sensor and battery pack, it's a night light that turns on via motion sensor or thru the light sensor that can be adjusted based on the consumers desired preferences. The light can be powered by a standard plug with direct current, the attached 12 volt battery, or a larger eight hour plus rechargeable battery that fits in the vehicle or backpack.

The sign includes a front panel, a rear panel situated opposite and substantially parallel to the front panel in spaced relation therefrom to define a space therebetween, and a light source comprising a plurality of LEDs. The light source is positioned between the front and rear panels and is configured to emit light that emanates from the front panel. The front panel is thus backlit to display indicia. A system for supporting a self-contained illuminated sign on a vehicle is also disclosed. The system includes the sign and a separate mounting frame mountable on a vehicle. The mounting frame is configured to removably receive the sign and, when the sign is received in the mounting frame, to surround a perimeter of the sign while permitting visibility of the front display area. Related methods are also disclosed.

Sanitizing light fixture for displaying information

A light fixture devised to provide illuminated sign panes for displaying information to nearby viewers, but including both white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and UV-C LEDs. The white LEDs are arranged in the fixture so as to illuminate transparent/translucent panes upon which helpful information is displayed, when actuated. The UV-C LEDs also are arranged in the fixture so as to disinfect or sterilize the ambient air near the fixture. The illumination LEDs and the disinfection LEDs are independently switchable “on” and “off,” so that a user can controllably illuminate the informational panes, or disinfect the air, or both.

An image display device according to the present disclosure includes: a display panel; a frame unit; and a driver. The display panel is switchable between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transmissive mode in which the display panel is in a transmissive state where an object behind the display panel is visible in a front view of the display panel. The frame unit includes an upper plate disposed along an upper edge of the display panel and protruding rearward. The driver includes a circuit unit which drives the display panel. The driver is supported by the upper plate on a bottom side of the upper plate.

A method of making a waveguide illumination system. More specifically, in a specific embodiment, an optically transmissive sheet having a light coupling area located at or near its light input edge and a two-dimensional light extraction area located on at least one of the first and second broad-area surfaces and at a distance from the first edge is provided. An LED strip having a strip of heat-conducting printed circuit and a linear array of electrically interconnected side-emitting LED packages is further provided. The LED strip is aligned parallel to the light input edge and positioning at or near the light input edge such that a major surface of the heat-conducting printed circuit extends generally parallel to the optically transmissive sheet and at least a substantial portion of the major surface is disposed in a space between the light input edge and an opposite edge of the optically transmissive sheet.
