Performance system, performance mode setting method, and performance mode setting device
A performance system can include a primary unit and a secondary unit. The secondary unit is provided for an electronic musical instrument that can be set to a first mode that enables performance by a single individual and a second mode that enables performance by a plurality of individuals, has connecting portions enabling connection of one or a plurality of receivers having at least a receiving function, and is able to communicate with the primary unit. The performance can also include an determining portion for determining whether or not a plurality of the receivers is connected to the connecting portion, and a transmitting portion for transmitting, to the primary unit, a notification that the second mode has been set, upon determining that a plurality of the receivers has been connected to the connecting portion. The secondary unit can include a setting portion for setting the electronic musical instrument to the second mode upon a determination that a plurality of receivers has been connected to the connecting portion.
Fret scanners and pickups for stringed instruments
Techniques are described that relate to various aspects of converting the mechanical energy of instrument strings to digital representations for use in a variety of applications.
CONVERSION-TO-NOTE APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC WIND INSTRUMENT AND CONVERSION-TO-NOTE METHOD
A conversion-to-note apparatus includes: a key which is operated by a user; and a processor. The processor obtains, from a memory, first information and second information. The first information is information to associate a key operation on the key with an open/close state of a tone hole or virtual tone hole. The second information is information to associate the open/close state of the tone hole or virtual tone hole with a note. Further, the processor identifies, based on the first information, the open/close state of the tone hole or virtual tone hole for the key operation detected. Further, the processor determines, based on the second information, the note for the identified open/close state of the tone hole or virtual tone hole.
HARMONIOUS AUDIO GENERATION
Techniques are disclosed herein for generating harmonious audio. An input for changing a mode of an electronic device from a first mode to a second mode can be received and, in response, a controller of the electronic device can modify electrical connections between a matrix circuit and a set of keys of the electronic device. In modifying the electrical connections, a set of tones associated with a first subset of keys of the set of keys can be associated with a second subset of keys of the set of keys. Keys of the second subset of keys can be adjacent to at least one other key of the second subset of keys and tones of the set of tones can be associated with respective keys of the second subset of keys. Audio output when one key is operated can be harmonious with audio output when other keys are operated.
Keyboard sensor systems and methods
A sensing system for a keyboard. Each key sensor comprises passive and active resonant circuits. The passive resonant circuit has a resonant frequency and the active resonant circuit excites the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency. A sensor driver drives the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal, a multiplexing system multiplexes the drive signal such that simultaneously driven key sensors are separated by at least (k?1) keys, and a detector detects a level of RF signal from a driven key sensor for sensing a position and/or velocity of a key.

Apparatus and method of sound modulation using touch screen with pressure sensor
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method of generating a sound by using a touch screen. A sound modulation apparatus according to the present invention includes: a sensor information input unit configured to receive sensing information on a position, at which a touch input of a user is applied to the screen, and pressure according to the touch input applied to the screen; and a sound modulation unit configured to set a tone frequency and volume of a sound to be output, and set the tone frequency according to the position, to which the touch input of the user is applied, and set the volume according to a size of the pressure according to the touch input.
