Holographic characterization and playback apparatus
A holographic characterization and playback apparatus is provided, which includes a light source, an optical path-forming optical system for separating the light emitted from the light source into a probe light and a reference light of different polarizations, and combining optical paths of the probe light and the reference light.
Lens driving device
A lens driving device includes a housing with an accommodation space, a barrel accommodated in the housing, a coil wound around the barrel and a magnet fixed to the housing. The lens driving device further includes a spring piece at least partially made of amorphous alloy materials, and the spring piece support the described barrel to perform the to-and-fro motion along the axis. Comparing to the relevant technologies, the lens driving device has good performance and high reliability.
Hybrid digital and analog data storage
The present invention relates to a method of concurrently storing visible grey scale or color information of an image and additional digital information on a data carrier.
OPTICAL DISC APPARATUS CONTROLLING IRRADIATION POSITION BASED ON CROSS-CORRELATION VALUE BETWEEN REPRODUCTION SIGNAL AND DECODED SIGNAL
In an optical disc apparatus for reproducing information recorded on a track of an optical disc, an optical head irradiates a light beam onto the track, detects a reflected light reflected by the track, and generates a reproduction signal based on the reflected light. A decoder circuit decodes the reproduction signal, and generates a decoded signal including information recorded on the track. A correlation detector circuit calculates a cross-correlation value between the reproduction signal and the decoded signal. A servo circuit detects a deviation amount of an irradiation position of the light beam onto the track, from the reproduction signal, and controls the irradiation position of the optical head based on the cross-correlation value and the deviation amount.

Servo Processor Receiving Photodetector Signals
An optical disk drive and a digital servo method for the optical disk drive includes controlling functions of the optical disk drive with a microprocessor. Low-pass filtered and gain adjusted versions of individual photodetector output signals resulting from an illumination of an optical disk are received. Versions of the individual photodetector output signals are digitized to produce digital signals. A focus control signal and/or a tracking control signal is determined through at least one servo algorithm executed by a digital signal processor based on a focus error and/or tracking error, respectively, determined from the digital signals. The digital signal processor is an integrated circuit structured and arranged for manipulation of digital signals in accordance with programmed commands, and in a manner that operates faster than the microprocessor.
Topographic feedforward system
A control mechanism may control the height and/or position of a read/write head configured to interact with a rotating information storage surface. A computation unit may compute a detected topography from gap measurements using a dynamic filter including a model of read/write head dynamics. A sensor may detect gap measurements of a side read/write track while the read/write head is interacting with a current read/write track. A memory may store the detected topography. The control mechanism may adjust the height of the read/write head based on the detected and/or stored topography. The control mechanism may be a reactionless control mechanism configured to apply a counterforce to offset movements of the read/write head and/or a slider.
