High strength dielectric member for a communications cable

A new dielectric material for a communication cable has a dielectric base with strength members embedded therein. By a new process, vacuum voids are formed in the dielectric base and at least partially contain or abut the strength members. The material is particularly well suited for a first dielectric tape, where the cable includes a first insulated conductor, the first dielectric tape and a second insulated conductor, with the first insulated conductor being twisted with the second insulated conductor with the first dielectric tape residing between the first insulated conductor and the second insulated conductor. The material is also suitable for a separator of the cable serving to separate twisted pairs from each other within the cable, as well as other components of the cable, such as an insulation layer of one or more of the insulated conductors of the twisted pairs.

Systems and methods for chronic neural recording

A system for reducing and/or eliminating noise in chronic neural recording of low amplitude neural signals from conscious, freely-moving subjects. Triboelectric noise effects are reduced or eliminated using in implant lead with insulating materials with charge affinities separated by 10 nC/J or less. The recording device can include a preamplifier device that uses capacitors with a low-distortion dielectric material.

Cables, including electrical cables. The cables are provided with a series of elements designed to interlock with each other when a first length of cable is pressed against a second length of cable, the element including protrusions and spaces between the protrusions. A user folds a length of cable on itself or on another cable, snugly pressing the protrusions into the spaces, to store the cable, or to restrict the movement of the cable during use. In this manner, movement of the cable is restricted into the configuration set by the user, and preventing the cable from becoming tangled, knotted, or so forth.

CABLE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

A cable signal transmission system according to the present disclosure includes a differential driver to generate a differential signal between a positive phase signal and a negative phase signal from a signal inputted to the differential driver, a splitter to split the positive phase signal into two or more split positive phase signals, and to split the negative phase signal into two or more split negative phase signals, and a multi-core cable having four or more cores and connected to the splitter, to separately transmit each of the signals after the splitting by the splitter. In the multi-core cable, each of the following inner cables: two or more inner cables via which the split positive phase signals are transmitted and two or more inner cables via which the split negative phase signals are transmitted is disposed contiguously.

Data cable and motor vehicle with the data cable

A novel data cable achieves good transmission quality in automotive Internet applications. The data cable has a transmission core with only a single stranded conductor pair or four conductors stranded together to form a quad. The transmission core is surrounded by a jacket having a high air content. The jacket may be a foamed sheath, or alternatively at least one spacer element that defines an annular sheath space with air gaps around the transmission core.

LAN cable with PVC cross-filler

A communications cable includes a jacket and a plurality of twisted pairs, each twisted pair having two insulated conductors twisted around one another. A cross-filler is arranged between the twisted pairs, where the cross filler is constructed of a PVC formulation using a halogenated plasticizer as the primary plasticizer and having a dissipation factor below 0.01 at frequencies between 100 MHz to 500 MHz.

Hybrid high frequency separator with parametric control ratios of conductive components

The present disclosure describes methods of manufacture and implementations of hybrid separators for data cables having conductive and non-conductive or metallic and non-metallic portions, and data cables including such hybrid separators. A hybrid separator comprising one or more conductive portions and one or more non-conductive portions may be positioned within a data cable between adjacent pairs of twisted insulated and shielded or unshielded conductors so as to provide physical and electrical separation of the conductors. The position and extent (laterally and longitudinally) of each conductive portion and each non-conductive portion may be selected for optimum performance of the data cable, including attenuation or rejection of cross talk, reduction of return loss, increase of stability, and control of impedance.

Composite cable

A composite cable that enables to easily restrain falling-off of separator dust at the time of peeling off a sheath, in comparison with composite cables in the conventional art. The composite cable includes a plurality of wires, a separator that covers the outer circumference of the plurality of wires all together, a sheath that covers the outer circumference of the separator, and an inclusion that is interposed between the separator and the sheath. The separator has a base layer composed of a polymer and an adhesive layer formed on the surface of the base layer on the inclusion side. In the composite cable, the adhesive layer is adhered to the inclusion.

LOW COST EXTRUDABLE ISOLATOR FROM SLIT-TAPE

A dielectric isolator for a twisted pair cable includes a body formed as an elongate strip with a top surface, bottom surface, a first side edge and a second side edge. A first slot is formed in the first side edge and extends at least half way toward the center of the isolator. A second slot is formed in the second side edge and extends at least half way toward the center of the isolator. During cable manufacturing, first and second wedges open the first and second slots. First and second twisted pairs are inserted into the first and second opened slots, respectively. Third and fourth twisted pairs reside at the top and bottom surface, respectively. The isolator has the cost and reel storage savings of a flat separator tape, while simultaneously providing the internal crosstalk performance of the isolator.
