Electromagnet-switchable permanent magnet device
A switchable permanent magnetic unit is disclosed. The unit comprises: a housing, first and second permanent magnets, and a conductive coil. The first magnet is mounted within the housing and the second magnet is rotatable between first and second positions and mounted within the housing in a stacked relationship with the first magnet. The unit generates a first level of magnetic flux at a workpiece contact interface when the second magnet is in the first position and a second level of magnetic flux at the interface when the second magnet is in the second position, the second level being greater than the first level. The conductive coil is arranged about the second magnet and generates a magnetic field. A component of the conductive coil's magnetic field is directed from S to N along the second magnet's N-S pole pair when the second magnet is in the first position.
Magnet
The present invention relates to a magnet that comprises a body and a slide arranged to be movable relative to the body between a first and a second position. The movement of the slide is limited by a first and a second section of the body in such a manner that at the first position of the slide, the second pole piece is in contact with the first section, and at the second position of the slide, the second pole piece is in contact with the second section.
Magnet Device
The present invention relates to a magnet device. The device is primarily comprised of a wire mesh, a magnet, and a telescoping arm. The wire mesh is comprised of at least one opening that allows a user to remove the wire mesh from the magnet when it is time to dispose of the collected metal items. In addition, the magnet is comprised of at least one magnetic base, at least one magnetic support, and at least one magnetic topper so that a user can easily pick up small to medium-sized metallic items without causing strain or injury to their back or other muscles. Further, the telescoping arm which allows the device to be used at a plurality of distances.
Method for making adsorption device
A method for making an adsorption device includes: providing and etching a substrate to form a plurality of receiving grooves spaced apart from each other; forming a magnetic film in each of the plurality of receiving grooves; and forming a magnet in each of the plurality of receiving grooves. Each receiving groove includes a bottom wall and a side wall coupling the bottom wall. The magnetic film covers the bottom wall and the side wall of each of receiving groove.
Tool for retrieving magnetic objects
A tool for retrieving magnetic objects. The tool comprising a flexible rod; a handle, connected to a first end of the flexible rod; and a magnetic head, connected to a second end of the flexible rod. Further, the magnetic head comprises a through-hole for retrieving the magnetic objects.
MAGNETIC FIXINGS AND CONNECTORS
A mechanism for fixing together first and second parts and comprising first and second guides provided respectively in or attached to the first and second parts. The mechanism further comprises first and second magnetic components coupled respectively to the first and second guides such that the first magnetic component is rotatable with the first guide and the first part, and the second magnetic component cannot rotate relative to the second guide, the magnetic components being moveable axially and rotationally with respect to each other and having magnetic poles oriented such that rotation of said first magnetic component causes relative axial movement of the magnetic components between a locking position in which one of the magnetic components straddles the two guides and an unlocking position in which it does not straddle the two guides.
Magnet arrays
Method and device for self-regulated flux transfer from a source of magnetic energy into one or more ferromagnetic work pieces, wherein a plurality of magnets, each having at least one N-S pole pair defining a magnetization axis, are disposed in a medium having a first relative permeability, the magnets being arranged in an array in which gaps of predetermined distance are maintained between neighboring magnets in the array and in which the magnetization axes of the magnets are oriented such that immediately neighboring magnets face one another with opposite polarities, such arrangement representing a magnetic tank circuit in which internal flux paths through the medium exist between neighboring magnets and magnetic flux access portals are defined between oppositely polarized pole pieces of such neighboring magnets, and wherein at least one working circuit is created which has a reluctance that is lower than that of the magnetic tank circuit by bringing one or more of the magnetic flux access portals into close vicinity to or contact with a surface of a ferromagnetic body having a second relative permeability that is higher than the first relative permeability, whereby a limit of effective flux transfer from the magnetic tank circuit into the working circuit will be reached when the work piece approaches magnetic saturation and the reluctance of the work circuit substantially equals the reluctance of the tank circuit.
