CONTACT DEVICE AND ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY EQUIPPED WITH CONTACT DEVICE
A contact device includes: a first fixed terminal; a movable contact that comes into contact with and away from the first fixed terminal by moving relative to the first fixed terminal; and a drive unit that moves the movable contact. The movable contact includes a movable contact main body having a first contact unit that comes into contact with the first fixed terminal. The first contact unit includes a plurality of first contact pieces that come into contact with the first fixed terminal.
Multi-finger electrical contact assemblies , circuit breakers, and methods having increased current withstand capabilities
A multi-finger electrical contact assembly having unequal electrical resistance in current paths through each finger providing relatively high current withstand capability. The multi-finger electrical contact assembly includes three or more fingers each with a coupled conductor, wherein one or more outer fingers and coupled conductor of the assembly have greater electrical resistance than an inner finger and coupled conductor. Multi-phase circuit breakers including the multi-finger electrical contact assembly and methods are provided, as are other aspects.
Movable contact assembly for circuit breaker
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a movable contact assembly for a circuit breaker, which includes a fixed contact, a connector formed to protrude from one side of a terminal connected to a load or a power source, a plurality of movable contacts pivotably installed at the connector through a connector pin and configured to be contactable to or separable from the fixed contact, a side holder pivotably installed at the connector through the connector pin, a catch pivotably installed at the connector, supported on the side holder, and configured to restrict a rebound phenomenon of the plurality of movable contacts when current limiting interruption occurs, and a pressurizing protrusion formed at a lower portion of each of the plurality of movable contacts and configured to push the catch when the current limiting interruption occurs.
Electrical circuit breaker with contact fingers having customized contact pressure
An electrical circuit breaker with separable electrical contacts includes a fixed electrical contact, a mobile electrical contact, that can be displaced between open and closed positions and including several electrical contact fingers, arranged aligned along a row and that can be displaced relative to the mobile electrical contact, several bearing members, each associated with a contact finger to exert a force on this contact finger in order to displace it. The bearing members associated with the contact fingers situated in lateral end zones of the row exhibit a higher stiffness than the bearing members associated with the contact fingers situated in a central part of the row.
Power distribution system
A power distribution system includes an electrical contactor arrangement. The electrical contactor arrangement includes a first contactor post, a first contactor lead, and a second contactor lead. The first contactor post extends from a first bus bar. The first contactor lead extends from the first contactor post. The first contactor lead is at least partially received within a contactor housing. The second contactor lead is spaced apart from the first contactor lead and extends from the first contactor post. The second contactor lead is at least partially received within the contactor housing.
Magnetic circuit arrangement for an electrical switch
An electrical switch includes a fixed contact member and a plurality of movable contact fingers that pivot into and out of engagement with the fixed contact member. The electrical switch also includes a fixed magnetic member and a plurality of U-shaped magnetic members housing the plurality of movable contact fingers. Upon occurrence of a fault condition, each of the plurality of U-shaped magnetic members is magnetically pulled towards the fixed magnetic member, without contacting the fixed magnetic member, such that each of the plurality of movable contact fingers is held in engagement with the fixed contact member.
CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER, TRIP DECK ASSEMBLY, AND SUPPORT FOR SWITCH THEREFOR
An improved multi-pole circuit interrupter includes an improved trip deck assembly adjacent one pole and further includes an accessory deck adjacent another pole. The accessory deck includes conventional accessory devices such as an auxiliary switch, etc., and the trip deck assembly includes switches and one or more other devices that can interact with a crossbar and a trip bar of the circuit interrupter. Such switches can be easily installed by a technician in the field after manufacture of the circuit interrupter. One switch is held in place by a support, and the other switch is held in place by a retainer, with the support and the retainer holding the switches in a fixed position on the trip deck assembly in order to interact with the crossbar and the trip bar.
LOW-VOLTAGE SWITCH POLE
A switch pole for a low-voltage switching device is provided. The switch pole includes an insulating casing defining an internal space with a contact region and an arc extinguishing region of the switch pole, a first pole terminal and a second pole terminal couplable with corresponding line conductors of an electric line, a fixed contact assembly and a movable contact assembly positioned in the contact region and including one or more fixed contacts and one or more movable contacts, respectively, which can be mutually coupled or uncoupled, an arc chamber positioned in the arc extinguishing region and including a plurality of parallel arc-breaking plates, and a magnetic field generation arrangement configured to generate a magnetic field during an opening maneuver of the switch pole.
MULTI-FINGER ELECTRICAL CONTACT ASSEMBLIES, CIRCUIT BREAKERS, AND METHODS HAVING INCREASED CURRENT WITHSTAND CAPABILITIES
Contact for bus plug switches
The present invention improves bug plug technology by providing a rotatable contact head to align contact surfaces in parallel. The parallel alignment avoids pitting of the surfaces by eliminating sparking gaps, improves the surface area-in-contact, and lengthens the useful life of the contact components. The novel features include minimizing heel-toe incursion during contact.
