Fuse switch module
10892131 · 2021-01-12 · ·

The invention refers to a low-cost fuse switch module that comprises a pair of fixed contacts and a rotary contact rotatable about a rotation axis located in-between the fixed contacts. The rotary contact is rotatable between a closed position in which it is connected with the fixed contacts to enable current circulation, and an open position in which the rotary contact is electrically isolated from the pair of fixed contacts. An overcurrent protection fuse is provided for limiting maximum current circulation through the contacts in the closed position, and the fuse is rotatable about the axis and it is arranged to operate as the rotary contact of the switch, such as by rotating the fuse about the rotation axis, the switch reciprocally transit from the closed to the open position.

An overcurrent protection device for distributing power to a component. A cartridge may removeably receiving a TPA fuse. The cartridge may include a power input terminal and a power output terminal. When the cartridge is removeably received by a power distribution panel the power input terminal may directly couple to a power input connection of the power distribution panel and the power output terminal may directly couple to a power output connection of the power distribution panel. The directly coupled power input terminal and power output terminal being void of an intermediate busbar arranged between the cartridge and the power distribution panel.

FUSE BOX, FUSE BOX ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SUCH FUSE BOX AND VEHICLE

The invention concerns a fuse box, comprising a busbar (6) and at least one fuse (8) connected to the busbar, each fuse including two opposite end portions (8A, 8B) and a central portion (82), at least the central portion of each fuse and a section of the busbar being encapsulated in a plastic coating layer. The central portion (82) includes a part (84) of reduced cross-section. The two end portions (8A, 8B) include two respective electrical connectors (81A, 81B), and at least the two electrical connectors (81A, 81B) of each fuse (8) are not encapsulated in the plastic coating layer, so that a new fuse (12) can be connected between the two electrical connectors (81A, 81B) in replacement of a blown fuse (8).

COMPACT HIGH VOLTAGE POWER FUSE AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE

A high voltage power fuse having a dramatically reduced size facilitated by silicated filler material, a formed fuse element geometry, arc barrier materials and single piece terminal fabrications. Methods of manufacture are also disclosed.

Pluggable touch-safe fuse module with built-in removal handle

A touch-safe fuse module includes a built-in slidable handle movable between extended and retracted positions relating to a housing of the fuse module. In the extended position, the handle assists with removal of the fuse from a base housing assembly by improving mechanical leverage to apply extraction force to the housing. Fuse modules having high current ratings may be effectively removed by hand without separately provided tools.

A molding method includes: setting a bus bar at a first mold main body portion of a fixed mold by supporting a terminal base of a tuning-fork terminal with a terminal base receiving portion of the fixed mold in a state where the tuning-fork terminal is protruded outside a cavity formed by the first mold main body portion of the fixed mold and a second mold main body portion of a movable mold being joined together; joining the movable mold together with the fixed mold by abutting an abut step portion of the movable mold to a receiving abut step portion of the fixed mold and nipping the terminal base of the tuning-fork terminal with the terminal base receiving portion and a terminal base abut portion of the movable mold; and injecting resin into the cavity in the nipped state.

POWER FUSE WITH ZINC-ALUMINUM ALLOY TERMINALS AND METHODS OF FABRICATION

A power fuse with zinc-aluminum terminals is provided. The power fuse includes a housing having a first end and a second end. Coupled to the housing at the first end is a first terminal assembly fabricated from a zinc-aluminum alloy, and coupled to the housing at the second end is a second terminal assembly also fabricated from the zinc-aluminum alloy. The first and second terminal assemblies include a copper plating entirely covering an exterior of the zinc-aluminum alloy. A fuse element assembly is positioned inside the housing and is electrically connected between the first terminal assembly and the second terminal assembly.

Fuse and method of forming a fuse

Embodiments of the fuse include a fuse body having a first end and a second end. A fuse element is disposed within a cavity of the fuse body, an end of the fuse element extending beyond an edge of the fuse body. An arc disc is disposed on the edge of the fuse body, and includes a notch such that the end of the fuse element extends to an outer surface of the arc disc. The end of the fuse element is configured to be folded over the outer surface of the arc disc. An end cap is disposed over the end of the fuse body and the arc disc, and the end cap includes a hole at a top surface. Solder deposited within the hole provides an electrical connection between the arc disc, the fuse element, and the end cap.
