Lithium ion batteries and methods of sterilization
A lithium ion battery is provided that includes: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; a separator comprising a material having a melt temperature of greater than 150° C.; and an electrolyte including an organic solvent and a lithium salt. A method for sterilizing a lithium ion battery is also provided that includes: providing a lithium ion battery (particularly one as described herein); either charging or discharging the battery to a state of charge (SOC) of 20% to 100%; and steam sterilizing the battery to form a sterilized lithium ion battery.

The present invention provides a composition for a gel polymer electrolyte, the composition including: an oligomer represented by Formula 1; an additive; a polymerization initiator; a lithium salt; and a non-aqueous solvent, the additive including at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted phosphate-based compound and a substituted or unsubstituted benzene-based compound, a gel polymer electrolyte prepared using the same, and a lithium secondary battery.
Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same
One of the objects of the present invention is to suppress a short circuit due to metal deposition in an insulating layer in a secondary battery in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are disposed to face each other via the insulating layer. The secondary battery comprises a battery element including at least one positive electrode 11 and at least one negative electrode 12, and a casing that seals the battery element together with an electrolyte. At least one of the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12 comprises a current collector, an active material layer formed on at least one surface of the current collector, and an insulating layer 112 formed on the surface of the active material layer. The electrolyte comprises an electrolyte component and a crosslinked gelling agent. The gelling agent exists at least between the active material layer of the positive electrode 11 and the active material layer of the negative electrode 12, and the ratio Rg of the gelling agent to 100% by mass of the electrolyte component in between the active material layer of the positive electrode 11 and the active material layer of the negative electrode 12 is 0<Rg≤5% by mass.
Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same
One of the objects of the present invention is to suppress a short circuit due to metal deposition in an insulating layer in a secondary battery in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are disposed to face each other via the insulating layer. The secondary battery comprises a battery element including at least one positive electrode 11 and at least one negative electrode 12, and a casing that seals the battery element together with an electrolyte. At least one of the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12 comprises a current collector, an active material layer formed on at least one surface of the current collector, and an insulating layer 112 formed on the surface of the active material layer. The electrolyte comprises an electrolyte component and a crosslinked gelling agent. The gelling agent exists at least between the active material layer of the positive electrode 11 and the active material layer of the negative electrode 12, and the ratio Rg of the gelling agent to 100% by mass of the electrolyte component in between the active material layer of the positive electrode 11 and the active material layer of the negative electrode 12 is 0<Rg≤5% by mass.

The present application discloses a lithium ion secondary battery comprising a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, a separator and an electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode plate comprises a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode film provided on at least one surface of the positive electrode current collector, and the positive electrode film comprises a first positive electrode active material represented by chemical formula Li.sub.1+xNi.sub.aCo.sub.bMe.sub.1-a-bO.sub.2-yA.sub.y and a second positive electrode active material represented by chemical formula Li.sub.1+zMn.sub.cN.sub.2-cO.sub.4-dB.sub.d; the positive electrode plate has a resistivity r of 3500 Ω.Math.m or less; and the electrolyte comprises a fluorine-containing lithium salt type additive. The lithium ion secondary battery provided by the present application is capable of satisfying high safety performance, high-temperature storage performance and cycle performance simultaneously.

An electrolyte of a lithium-ion secondary battery and an application thereof. The electrolyte of the lithium-ion secondary battery includes an organic solution, a lithium salt, and an additive, and the additive comprises a borate compound. The electrolyte can be better applied to low-cobalt or cobalt-free positive electrode materials, improve the high-temperature cycle and storage performance of the lithium-ion batteries, and inhibit gas generation during high-temperature storage, thereby improving the comprehensive performance of the battery.

NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE FOR SECONDARY BATTERIES AND NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains a carboxylic acid ester and lithium bisoxalato borate. The concentration of the carboxylic acid ester is not less than 0.01% by volume but less than 10% by volume relative to the volume of the nonaqueous solvent. In addition, the concentration of the lithium bisoxalato borate is not less than 0.01 M but less than 0.2 M.
