Free-space polarization adapter
A system for testing vehicular radar is described. The system include a free-space polarization adapter (FSPA) configured to alter a first polarization state of electromagnetic waves from a radar device under test (DUT) to a second polarization state, which is different than the first polarization state; and a re-illuminator adapted to receive the electromagnetic waves having the second polarization state from the FSPA.
Two-dimensional electronically steerable antenna
A ferrite controller includes a single array of two or more ferrite control elements. The ferrite control elements each include a radio frequency (RF) path assembly that includes a RF path ferrite element and a RF path dielectric element. The ferrite control elements also include a magnetizing ferrite assembly that includes a magnetizing ferrite element; one or more structural dielectric elements; and a flexible insulated waveguide wall. The magnetizing ferrite element is attached to the one or more structural dielectric elements, wherein the flexible insulated waveguide wall surrounds the magnetizing ferrite element and the structural dielectric elements, wherein the RF path ferrite element and the magnetizing ferrite element are attached to form a ferrite toroid. The ferrite control elements also include two tapered impedance matching transformers attached to the RF path assembly and the magnetizing ferrite assembly.
METHOD FOR DETECTING CHIPLESS RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION DEVICES (RFID)
This invention relates to a method for detecting chipless radio frequency identification devices (RFID), in particular chip detection, also referred to as chipless RFID tags. This invention also relates to the devices and tags which may be used in the claimed method.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a sheet conveyance unit that is configured to transport a print medium along a conveyance path. An antenna is configured to emit radio waves towards a predetermined portion of the conveyance path. A controller is configured to control the antenna to emit the radio waves towards the predetermined portion with a polarization direction set according to a type of the print medium being transported by the sheet conveyance unit. The print medium may have, for example, one or more wireless tags thereon or therein.
ELECTRIC FIELD DIRECTION CONVERSION STRUCTURE AND PLANAR ANTENNA
A first waveguide guides a first radio wave whose electric field is vibrated in a first direction along a second direction. A second waveguide guides the first radio wave along the second direction and is cascade connected to the first waveguide. An input and output end multiplexes the first radio waves from the first and second waveguides and outputs the multiplexed radio wave, and outputs the first radio wave branched off from a radio wave from outside to the first and second waveguides. A first waveguide shift portion is shifted from the first waveguide in the first direction. A second waveguide shift portion is shifted from the second waveguide in the first direction. The vibration directions of electric fields of radio waves passing through the end parts of the first and second waveguide shift portions are rotated by 90° about a third direction.
WAVEGUIDE SLOT ARRAY ANTENNA
The present invention provides a waveguide slot array antenna having an excitation slot arrangement radiating a signal corresponding to an operating frequency in a radiation plate, the waveguide slot array antenna comprising: a first auxiliary radiation plate installed on a main radiation plate and rotating a polarization plane of a signal radiated from the excitation slot arrangement of the main radiation plate; and a second auxiliary radiation plate installed on the first auxiliary radiation plate and distributing and radiating the signal, the polarization plane of which has been rotated in the first auxiliary radiation plate.
BEAM MANAGEMENT ENHANCEMENT FOR FR2 WITH V-POL/H-POL VIRTUALIZATION
Various systems and methods disclosed herein describe improvements for beam management that leverage virtualization across a vertical polarization (V-Pol) and horizontal polarization (H-Pol). One or more of a user equipment (UE) and a base station may include an antenna array comprising V-Pol antenna elements and H-Pol antenna elements. The UE may determine a number of receive (Rx) beam of an Rx beam sweep are needed, signal this number to the base station, and perform the beam sweep according to one or both of the V-Pol and H-Pol. A UE may use group based beam reporting to indicate to the base station a transmit (Tx) beam upon which downlink MIMO using V-Pol and H-Pol may be supported by reporting a same transmission configuration indication (TCI) corresponding to the Tx beam for both a first Rx beam and a second Rx beam in a group based beam reporting message.
Integrated Polarization Converter and Feed Horn
An integral waveguide device herein includes a polarizer component comprising a waveguide and a dielectric slab, the dielectric slab configured to change a polarization of a signal passing through the waveguide. The integral waveguide device also includes a feed horn for conveying signals between the waveguide and a parabolic antenna. The waveguide of the polarizer and the feed horn are manufactured as an integral component with the feed horn disposed at a first end of the waveguide.
Reflector device, communication system using the same and communication method using the same
A reflector device having first and second reflector plates to which a reflective surface is attached, respectively, at a prescribed angle of inclination in relation to an axis of rotation, wherein the first reflector plate (1) and the second reflector plate are positioned so as to face one another, and the first reflector plate and/or the second reflector plate are/is capable of rotating around the axis of rotation.
Radio frequency life detection radar system
Trapped or confined individuals may be located and rescued by detecting their vital signs (e.g., chest movement or heart beat) using reflected, radio frequency signals over a range of multiple antenna polarities.
