CHARGING CONTACT WITH PRIMARY BRUSH MOTION ISOLATED FROM FLEXIBLE CONNECTION
A charging contact assembly can include a brush configured to translate in a first direction generally perpendicular to a second direction of travel of the charging contact assembly. The brush can include a first contact surface for contacting the conducting surface, and a second contact surface parallel to the first direction of translation of the brush and parallel to the second direction of travel of the charging contact assembly. The charging contact assembly can also include a connector having a flexible connection, and a connector contact surface electrically coupled with the flexible connection and arranged parallel to the second contact surface of the brush to slidingly contact the second contact surface of the brush. The charging contact assembly can further include a biasing mechanism for biasing the connector contact surface of the connector into contact with the second contact surface of the brush.

Electrical power transmission to elevator system cars
An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and a power management and transfer system. The power management and transfer system includes an electrical power source, a hoistway contactor secured in the hoistway and operably connected to the electrical power source, and a car contactor disposed at the elevator car, such that when the car contactor is brought into operable contact with the hoistway contactor, electrical power is transferrable between the power source and the elevator car.

CONTACTOR SELECTION TO OPEN UNDER LOAD
A connection system for connecting a work machine to an external large-capacity energy source includes an electrically conductive member configured to provide electrical energy from the external energy source to an energy receptacle of the work machine; a first contactor mechanically movable between a closed position electrically connecting the external energy source and the electrically conductive member, and an open position physically disconnecting the external energy source and the electrically conductive member; a second contactor mechanically movable between a closed position electrically connecting the electrically conductive member and the energy receptacle, and an open position physically disconnecting the electrically conductive member and the energy receptacle; and controller configured to receive an indication to disconnect the electrical power system of the work machine from the external energy source; and selectively initiate opening of the first contactor or the second contactor according to the received indication.
